Don't you get bored? I really, really need to have different tastes and textures to enjoy food on a regular basis.
Yes, I suppose we do get a bit bored, but I seem to be on a bit of a treadmill at the moment - up too early, bed too late, working too hard, caring for family and animals etc. I'm just grateful not to be hungry right now! I do love the idea of growing our own beetroot, onions, marrows etc and it is definitely on both our 'to do' lists for when we retire. Hopefully before.

Thanks for dropping by with that website :). I can't wait for Dolphin's feedback on her order. I bet she ordered cake.....:D

Sorry you're feeling out of sorts. Hormones can be very powerful and even a little alarming.
About a year ago I mentioned to my dentist that my teeth are becoming sensitive (well, when I say 'mentioned', she kind of noticed when I kept jumping out of her chair!). She recommended a brand of sensitive toothpaste and told me not to spit and rinse. The difference is amazing.

I hope your back is better soon. I will lay off nagging about the exercises for a while and focus more on the M & S lemon meringue :D

That's weird, I thought I had already posted about this. Anyway, I got a bit carried away and spent £38 including delivery :D. The order is coming today, mostly bread and bread rolls as they can be frozen but a couple of cakes too :). It's sad how excited I am about it. I'll feedback when I've tried some of it.

The M&S lemon meringue dessert wasn't even that nice and not really that satisfying but I have such limited choice for desserts that sometimes I just get something because it's sweet and gluten free :o.

You sound pretty exhausted at the moment. With everything you have to do, I'm not surprised that you aren't sleeping very well. You need a bit more 'me time' built into your schedule.

    Update for yesterday...

    1) None eaten.
    2) Light off at 10.45pm.
    3) Gave the back exercises a miss for reason already given.

Healing *vibes* for Dolphin's back, and *snuggly sleeping vibes* for Happy Now.

Happy scoffing vibes for both of you, whatever you choose.
    Better is good enough.

    • No computer after 9.00pm. Nope. I never sleep well the night before the Saturday plastering class, so I didn't bother with trying to this week. Up playing computer games until midnight, and Not Sorry.
    • Five fruit and veg a day. Tick - I think. Fridge clearance as OH is away, and I need jam jars. Anything that could be finished up, was.
    • 15 minutes flying a day, sticking to the new schedule: Monday: Dusting/dewebbing; Tuesday: Kitchen; Wednesday: Floors; Thursday: Bath/shower room; Friday: Windows/Paintwork. Pah. Cleanliness is for nancies.
    • Go flour-free. Tick yesterday, but a chocolate brownie got scoffed at break in plastering this morning. Bad Honey Bear.
    • New for Suptember 2: Use the electric toothbrush at least once a day. I hate doing it, but it's so much more effective than the old fashioned one, so if I make it official I might stick to it. Er, a bit too tired by the time I finally threw in the towel, so no.
    Better is good enough.

The best lemon meringue in the world (not even exaggerating) is this one :

It's home-made so a bit faffy, and obviously you would have to fiddle with the pastry if there's a gluten-free version (or just not bother with pastry, pastry's not the point!) but once you have tried it you won't want any other, I promise.

Thanks for the thought :). I sounded a proper moaner. Anyway, fate has jumped right in and I am taking three days annual leave very soon because Mr H has got his operation date through!! They must have had a cancellation or something because he was expecting to wait until after Christmas, but he now has his op next Thursday. It's only a day thing, so I've booked Thursday off to deliver/collect him, then Friday and the following Monday to wait on him hand & foot and pander to any whims. As he will probably sleep all the time, that should allow plenty of 'me' time, which is the real plan :D.

    Plastering class? So many talents.......!

Agreed. No nancies on this thread.

Now logically, the electric one should be easier when you're tired because you don't have to bother moving your hand up and down. Nope, sorry, can't accept tiredness as a reason :D

My own targets do not make pretty reading :o

Money - payday came and went. All bills paid including £1100 off the debts & money borrowed from Xmas funds repaid. Ordered six weeks worth of horse feed to build up a stock for winter, new rug ordered for horse to replace the broken one, Zoopl*s order done to keep the dog fed for two months. Supposed to order an extra month's coal to get a bit of a stockpile but haven't because there's no money available. Fridge/freezer/cupboards stocked, but only with a week or so's food. Balance remaining for groceries until 15th Nov - £25.03 :(. Going to be borrowing from Christmas again this month.
I *might* have to have a minimum debt payment month soon, because I don't want to be borrowing from Christmas every month. Plus of course soon Christmas will be here, funds will be spent and then what? I'll see how this month goes.
