    • No computer after 9.00pm. Tick.
    • Five fruit and veg a day. Tick.
    • 15 minutes flying a day, sticking to the new schedule: Monday: Dusting/dewebbing; Tuesday: Kitchen; Wednesday: Floors; Thursday: Bath/shower room; Friday: Windows/Paintwork. In order to get the loo rolls out of the cupboard, I had to shift the bedside table (and everything crammed on it), the dog basket, the bed, the cat's table for looking out of the window, and eventually that resulted in everything else in the room being shifted too. If the builder had installed the magnetic cupboard catches we asked for 20 years ago none of that would have been necessary. As it was, he put spring ones on the cupboad over the bed and when one of them jams, it turns out the only way to get the cupboard door open is to unscrew the whole affair. So, it was a couple of hours Flying in one room but it's pretty sparkly now.

Well, that cupboard door sounds far too much of a faff.

    • Go flour-free. Tick. BUT, the very familiar exhaustion kicked back in after lunch yesterday and hasn't left me since. I'm furious about it because I can't for the life of me work out what caused it and it feels dreadful. I know I had French bread, a tiny bit of half flour half oats crumble and two ginger bix on Sunday but I'm utterly side-swiped and have been for over 24 hours. Grrrr. There is a very slight possibility OH got the toasts muddled up at lunchtime but he doesn't think so, so I've got no idea quite why this has happened.

Maybe you had just done a lot, might not be what you'd eaten?

    • New for Suptember 2: Use the electric toothbrush at least once a day. I hate doing it, but it's so much more effective than the old fashioned one, so if I make it official I might stick to it. Nope, again, even though it's on the list. Cross with self.

Not using your electric toothbrush again, tut tut!

Sadly, Dolphin, I'd just had a big plate of beans on (should have been gluten- free) toast, so I'm not sure what's going on. All I know is I can't go back to feeling like this all the time. I know, I know about the toothbrush. My bad.

Happy, I forgot to say, well done on the 40%, that's utterly brilliant. The monthly interest figures must be a lot better than when you started, I would have thought. Heartening stuff.

    • No computer after 9.00pm. Tick.
    • Five fruit and veg a day. Almost a tick.
    • 15 minutes flying a day, sticking to the new schedule: Monday: Dusting/dewebbing; Tuesday: Kitchen; Wednesday: Floors; Thursday: Bath/shower room; Friday: Windows/Paintwork. Shower room today; the bathroom got some attention earlier in the week, and the floors and kitchen have had attention, so apart from dusting I'm almost back on track. Must.do.dusting.
    • Go flour-free. Tick. It might, just might, have been a sugar spike. If that's the case I know a lot more about what's been causing the fatigue and lethargy for years and I need to take it very, very seriously. That had never occurred to me before. A quick flick through the pre-diabetes symptoms this morning did not make easy reading and would explain why going flour-free has worked. Either way, things are going to get tighter and better.

Secondly, January was - as predicted - my financial month from hell. I had to use my credit cards for food, car repairs, box of wine and several other absolute essentials.

    Hi Happy Now,

Currently in the middle of reading your diary and I'm up to this bit (2012). The box of wine text made me literally laugh out loud!

Looking forward to catching up completely X

Ooh, visitors while I've been away!
My mum's parents had all false teeth by the time they were my age (31) My mum was always super-strict with me and my brother, so luckily I have good dental habits ingrained in me :D When I go away overnight, I just take a manual brush and it feels wrong because I'm so accustomed to my electric one. Thankfully, using an electric toothbrush for years has helped me protect my teeth throughout a fizzy drink addiction (I used to drink over 2 litres of diet cola a day), because I haven't been able to afford to go to the dentist since I was a teenager!
Hello AspiringButAnxious, thanks for dropping by, visitors are always very welcome! I've just had a very quick look at your diary (it's 4:30am!). Wouldn't you get free dental treatment with being on ESA? Hopefully you wouldn't need anything anyway, but if you can get a check-up for free why not go for it? Personally, although I'm scared of the dentist I'm more scared of NOT going, just in case there's trouble abrewing :rotfl:.

Hello Swash, thanks for posting. Do you know, I actually remember writing that!! Well not literally writing it, but living through that January and wondering whether I was actually going to be able to do this whole debt-beating thing. It was a very slow start! Don't feel you need to plough through the whole diary, feel free to pick up and join in from now :)

Honey and Dolphin - I just dropped by to cheer you on and I will be back for a full catch-up very soon. I haven't been able to update because there's been family around for the last couple of days. Normal service will be resumed tomorrow or Saturday . Right, it's 4:45 am so I'm off back to bed until my alarm goes off at 5:38!!!
