Why is it your current insurer's always, without fail, ramp up your policy renewal price the next year despite no claim! It really naffs me off!
Anyway, been online and found two good quotes with Barclays and Churchill.
Any pro's & con's with either before I decide? Both policies on offer are comparably the same from what I can see.0 -
Got a quote from aviva via the link on this site but it didn'd mention the £60 M&S vouchers just the 2 months free, I rang them and they know nothing about it. Has it finished as it says 16/05/10 on this site?
Thanks0 -
Hi MSE peeps
Im new to the forum and wondering if anyone can help me with a query? I've just followed the Aviva home insurance link which promises £60 worth of M&S vouchers if you take out a policy through the MSE link. I have done just this, however they are now saying its nothing to do with them and its administated by MSE. Has anyone else had the same experience/response with this deal? I wouldn't want others to take out a policy with the vouchers being the main sweetener if they aren't gonna stump up

Hi all, completely new to the forum but have been following the moneysavingexpert site for a while now. Seen the Aviva M&S vouchers offer with home insurance and thought to go through link their website. Indeed at the end of quote there is no sign of any M&S vouchers so.... I got to a live chat with Aviva adviser.
She wasn't much help and despite my asking she would not mention the M&S vouchers at all. When I presented her with the info from this website she stated:
"I see, that is via an external website so isn't directly linked. What you will need to do is access the Aviva website following that link on martins page (if you haven't already) and then those vouchers will be automatically allocated."
"You won't see any confirmation on your quote at all" (of those vouchers).
When I asked for reassurance that the vouchers indeed will be given she replied:
"Because you have accessed Avivas page via that link on Martin's page so it is all tracked in the system for you, don't worry" I use Martin's page myself, I am sure we can trust him to make sue that the offer is valid"
so she kind of put responsibility for that offer on Martin and did not confirm Aviva/s commitment but also said:
"If the offer is on the page then it is valid. Do a quote and if you like you can even have a print out of this chat for your reference?"
"The offer is still on the Martin's website and I'm confident that it would have been withdrawn if it wasn't available any longer."
........
"So long as you access the aviva website through the link on Martin's page then you will get the vouchers which will be issued after 6 weeks ( if you take up a policy and do not cancel)"
I wish there was a bit more info about that offer than what I could find on: moneysevingexpert.com/insurance/aviva-MS-voucher
Yours truly

I am declining their kind invitation to autorenew explaining that I've bought the same policy from them for £45 less. Thieving @*£^%0 -

Today's News:
Research, from Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks, suggests that thousands of UK households that are burgled every year are not covered by home insurance, with around 1 in 4 households in the UK having no home contents insurance, and approximately 1 in 3 with no buildings cover.
With approximately 600,000 burglaries reported each year, it is estimated that of these burglaries, up to 150,000 of them are not be covered by contents insurance. With an average claim value of just over £1,200, the total cost to these victims could be almost £200million each year. I am one of those 25% without home contents insurance. I've bought some more household items lately and really need insurance - I've just bought a high end road bike too so my question is: any good deals that cover bikes that anyone knows of? All tips greatly appreciated. Ta Tom.0 -
The M&S Policy covers high value bikes for a very small extra premium, before you go to the M&S bear in mind you MAY be able to get £30 cashback via Quidco.0
