Hi, Sir
I want to insured our home In new york if your Insurence company have world wide frenchises plz contact with me0 -
Thinking of signing up with a Tesco Finest Home Insurance policy. It is an excellent price especially considering the number of claims had in the past 5 years with many insurers not even quoting.
1. Does anyone have anything bad to say against this policy? Is customer service ok etc?
2. I will probably sign up via Confused - what happens when I click the button do I get the chance to check all details at Tesco's site to ensure everything has been recorded and transferred from Confused correctly?

if you do go to confused (and other comparision sites) never, ever, give your real phone numbers as you'll be swamped with phone calls from all the other companies. Yes - you can always go to the Tesco site to see the details - I'd say you always should as details do go wrong - I've been getting phone calls from accident claims people because they think I have had a recent car accident - where-as my last claim was 5 years back0

Its a UK Insurance Policy which is the White Label brand for Direct Line / Churchill who are all RBS companies. You'll get the same type of service as you would do on a normal UK Insurance or Tesco Policy it's just got some extra covers built in
It looks like the Subsidence excess is £2000 which if is (The summary of cover is not very clear) it's twice the standard subsidence excess
Why are you signing up through confused.com and not going directly through the tesco website? If you have a lot of claims its very important you make sure they are all declared and the information about them is accurate0 -

For the same reason everyone does I guess not having to retype all your details.
Any answers to my actual questions?0 -
The letter from Privilege Insurance informed me that, despite no changes to the account and no claims, my renewal premium would be £888.30 - £217 (32%) more than last year.
After my third attempt to call the Customer Helpline it was explained to me that the increase in prices was 'general across the industry' and not in any way due to the failure of RBS (Privilege is a subsidiary of Direct Line which is itself a subsidiary of RBS). "We don't claim to be the cheapest insurer" he said, ".. we do claim to be the best!".
However, because of my 'loyalty' to the firm the premium immediately was reduced to £753 - still £88 more and a 13% increase, but £135 less than the original. There were still 6 quotes well below this on moneysupermarket.com.
I liked that quite a lot.0 -
Hi
I am struggling to find cheap home and contents insurance. I have used confused.com and compare.com but it never comes up with any results because I live close to water and therefore my address is considered high risk of flooding. I am currently paying £44 a month with Tesco Insurance which has gone up by about £10 every year for the last 3 years . I am scared to cancel it even though I know that I have not disclosed that I live near water and that this would probably affect any claim I tried to make. Every year I run out of time so I just go with Tesco again
. My policy is due to run out next month so I am trying to do some research... can anyone help??

I'm within 50metres of water, and the river has never flooded in living memory. Last year I took our new home insurance with Tesco, and ticked that my home was not liable to flooding. When I got the policy, I phoned them to tell them that I was within 50m of a river. They said the policy would not be affected. I'm just in the process of renewing again, and one of the comparison sites asked if I was within 200m of water(I can't remember which one , but it was one on Martin's list), and I got loads of quotes.
Have you thought about generating a new quote from Tesco, as the new quote they gave me online was £70 cheaper than the price on the renewal notice.
It's up to you whether or not you tell them about the water, but what's the point of not telling them. If you needed to claim, you might have wasted all your payments to them if they invalidate the policy.0 -
I know, I know. The reason I didnt disclose in the first instance was that I was in a hurry to get insurance so my mortgage could go through. My financial adviser was supposed to be taking care of it but then at the last minute told me she couldn't find anything. So I phoned tesco over the phone and they didnt ask about flooding or water so I just went with them! Anyway thats been usefull, thanks!0
