Thank you Razze re Swinton Insurance, have heard they charge £25 per administartive effort AND get this by using the original debit or credit card details.
Maybe this applies to claims not met.0 -
Razzy if you can give us a better description, we may be able to make some suggestions on making a complaint which if you give us more detailed information we may be able to find a procedural error they've made.
Can you let us know how you bought cover eg online, entirely on the phone etc, whether you discussed the bikes, if anything was said about the bikes and what document they supplied you with at point of sale or what you received through the post.
Also need to know exactly what sort of structure your bike was locked to and when Swintons mentioned about the exclusion and when they sent you a copy of it. If there is anything that points to them not giving you these documents when you bought cover. Have a look at the very bottom edge, they sometimes have a date they were printed in very small print0 -
i had a letter form barclays informing me my renewal was coming up
it's gone up to 165 a year, are there any other companys cheaper0 -
The more that you know about home owner insurance benefits the better off you are going to be in the long run. When you think about home owner insurance you probably have a few benefits in mind.
One of the biggest home owner insurance benefits is the fact that your investment will be protected, Another one of the home owner insurance benefits is that you can get a good policy for a low monthly premium.0 -
I've done the same thing - my contents insurance from Barclays was £77 and I got £125 cash back through Quidco! Well worth doing. When your docs come through, your old insurer will probably try to better the quote to stop you cancelling - take this back to the new insurer and get the premium reduced even further. This won't affect your Quidco payment.0

I have just received a quote for my home insurance of the same insurer i have been with for three years. It has gone up £60, I rang to ask them why and they said it was because i made a claim in September. i told them that i did not make a claim. They said that i rang them about having my mobile phone stolen while out shopping, which i did. I said that i did ring them to enquire if it was covered by my house insurance & when they told me it wasnt I said ok and I went out and bought a new one. They told me that if It was covered by the home insurance that I would have made a claim and that is why my insurance has gone up. Can they do this ?, is it legal ?, surely the are charging me for a service that I was not able to use. Any help and/or advice would be very helpful.:mad:0

Have been insured with Lloyds TSB for the past year before that was Bank of Scotland for years and they where quite cheap. Bank of Scotland and Lloyds are basically the same bank nowadays so when I got my letter in saying my policy was due for renewal in 3 weeks I could not believe the price hike!! They where wanting £237 and this is just for contents insurance. They only had my valuables at £10,000 so was not amused. Looked at all the price comparison sites plus the ones that are not on there for quotes over the last week or so dementing myself as they was nothing really under £100 and there where so many add ons etc confusing everything. I work for NHS so checked to see if my union had any deals
with companies they had Liverpool Victoria and that was ok but had a few things that put the price up, I remembered I was a member of another website NHS discounts so I checked they website you could put a request in for someone to call you back at a convienient time as they check several deals for you so far this has been the best rate for what I am wanting so that is good. £95 for the year with L&G. I am still thinking it over as have another week before my current policy runs out.0 -

Can someone explain to me how I work out the rebuild value of my house please?
Thanks for any advice with this.
When did you take out your current mortgage and did they value the house?0 -
Does anyone have advice as to which companies might offer House and Contents Insurance for a full year during which I might take a 90 day holiday ? Many companies seem to limit unoccupancy to a maximum of 60 days. Failing that are there any helpful companies that would offer a reasonably priced policy just to give cover for the holiday period ? Thanks...0
