this blogger makes mulled wine sachets
from coffee filters (V clever!!) as they can be used, as is

    http://www.turquoiselemons.com/2/post/2011/11/make-your-own-mulled-wine-sachets.html

They look fabulous :) I don't suppose anyone knows how you make your own pottery goblets without going to a pottery class :D
  • i've had a go at pottery a couple of times
    at classes
great fun but waaaaaaaaay harder than it looks!

trouble with doing it yourself is firing them
and you wouldnt make a set of goblets at classes
maybe one or a pair at most
but its an expensive way to get a couple of goblets i'm afraid:(

i'm getting myself organised for my taggy blanket. I've got a piece of red fleece to use as the front, some ribbon and other fabric scraps to use for my tags and a sheet to use to back it. All i need is wadding to use to make the taggy more 'quilty'. I'm rather excited although my mom is taking over abit. Which is abit annoying. Ive talked about some of the crafting i want to do and funnily enough she's now really into her crafting and wants to do alot of the exact things.

I know the feeling about mums taking over - my mum is fabulous at anything crafty but I tend to find I come up with the idea and then she makes it. So this year I'm going to try and do the making for myself, with no handholding :eek: Could be some interesting makes coming up...

Has anyone got any ideas of something I could make for someone who enjoys walking/ hiking?
  • least i dont have that problem supa:rotfl:

bit unfair pinching your ideas for prezzies if you both give to the same people though
loads of ideas on here, there must be enough for both of you:)
  • hat & gloves?
    scarf?
cover for their compass, GPS, so the can have it round their neck (hanging down a bit obv)
    oilcloth bag for sammiges:D

I know that was kinda what I thought, but when I've been looking to buy them they've been so expensive. Just looked at your link to the ebay ones though and if I can get them for about that price at the end of the auction I shall be sweeping them up - they are perfect :) Failing that I think my thoughts about car boot sales, charity shop searching and ebay checking will be the next best thing to making them.

i was reading this blog this morning
and wondered if anyone who does caft fairs may like to try this?

    http://soresourceful.wordpress.com/2011/12/18/project-one-hundred-and-five-make-your-own-mini-bunting-kits/

i decided to make some "baby bunting" this afternoon (inspired)
didnt take long and i think people may like the kits as a present
    or even for themselves
i dont think they would cost much to produce

The bunting looks lovely, so sweet to have mini bunting. :T

I do wonder though whether some people would rather have ready made bunting than a kit. I realise you would have to charge more, but so many people love home-made stuff and are not able (or willing!) to make it themselves - my daughter included! She and her friends would rather pay what I consider to be way too much money for hand-made stuff rather than try it themselves.

I don't mind if they pay me, but I object to them paying other people! :rotfl::rotfl:

Wow, great makes yabajaz. Out of interest, how much did you charge for your Santa chocolate bars, as it looks like a lot of work has gone into those, and I am not sure people will always pay the amount that reflects that. My daughter did Reindeer lollies and people only seemed willing to pay 50p each for them, although admittedly there wasn't the work on them that was on your bars!

I charged £1.50 and sold out
people were buying them for each place at the Christmas table.

the choc bars were reduced to 25p at Sainsburys
the hats x4 at the £1 shop = 25p each
the rest is card + 2 mini googly eyes
so actually simple enough for my girls to 'help'
