ok guys, 1st challange for you all hard core crafters! My cousin is due a baby in the next month and i probably should give her something to welcome the baby. Not that she would do this for me if i were due a baby but i'm trying very hard to be a better person than her. I could use ideas for something quick, easy and doesn't require enormous amounts of gear to make as we dont have alot of fabric in!

mum was talking about making a cot quilt so maybe we could make it together and get away with one gift between us. She seems to have everything already! might do a yagy blanket. We have fleece blankets knocking around so wouldnt take huge amounts of energy to add the tags on. Have lots of different fabric scraps. Awesome! A taggy blanket it is!

My daughter is 5 and still has the taggy she had when she was born. :) They are dead easy to make as well.

If your mum makes a blanket stupa sick then perhaps you could use leftover fabric for a taggy with fleece backing.

Yes Twinkledust use the same silks. I prefer to use a small embroidery hoop, about 4" I think. This size just feels comfy for me.

I like the style of designs here ... http://www.livewellstitches.com/children.html but they are finished products not patterns so I draw similar designs then print out my own wording in a font of my choice.

There is also a site where they will use your children's art work as a pattern and they then produce a cushion or picture of that design with colours to match. My grand littlies still a bit young for the art work but I will use this idea when they do start to draw recognisable pictures.

    Same principal here ... http://belladia.typepad.com/bella_dia/2006/03/embroidered_chi.html

Welcome  congrats on the stall! Looking forward to seeing your loverly makes :T

when you type on the reply button you will see options at the top of the box....like changing the colour or size of your writing etc

If you hover your pointer over the small images that appear you will see one that looks like an envelope with a stamp on it and when you hover over it it will say insert image just click on that and your off! :) HTH

:( Ahh - it is suggesting I add a URL address....?
rather than a picture from my computer, any suggestions?
    thanks
