Do men come with a bit missing in their brains that makes them go deaf when the tv is on so they have to turn it on so loud?????? Sorry for the rant but it really p's me off at how loud OH has the tv sometimes i actually feel like smashing up the tv :rotfl:.

When I was a kid my mum risked causing me permanent hearing damage after discovering some hidden button on the TV that I can only assume was marked "Louder than Hell".

I can't say I like to have the TV on particularly loud. Even when I use my surround system the volume is kept at an appropriate level but I suppose I could have that permanent hearing damage and everyone is just too polite to tell me :D

my mum had hearing problems when I was growing up and had the tv on so loud I could hear every word from my bedroom! I used to beg her to turn it down so I could go to sleep! but she refused to saying that it 'wasnt loud'! nowadays you can hear her tv outside the house with all the doors and windows shut! and her neighbour is worse! Luckily they cant hear each other!

My OH must have ears like a bat! he has everything so quiet so I cannot even catch what they are saying on the tv or the radio in the car! and refuses to turn it up saying that I must be deaf! my hearing is actually pretty good! cos I got it checked last year as I was convinced he must be right!

From a hearing test I had, I'm cursed with 'outstanding hearing' so the telly drives me mad. Sometimes I pretend I need a nap so I can go upstairs to have some quiet reading time.

Men are much worse I think.

Reminds me of my ex-FiL. He used to have westerns on at a really loud volume during the night. The shooting sounds were so loud it woke us in the next room yet he sat there snoozing his way through it.

Mind you, in his case more often than not he'd downed a bottle of sherry by then :rotfl:
