I know.. thankfully his bungalow was detached, otherwise I'm sure he'd have had the neighbors complaining. He was someone who had a loud voice, too, but maybe he couldn't hear that it was loud. I'm convinced some people just don't have sensitive hearing! I'm the opposite, I hate loud noise, and especially 'white noise'0

probably due to a hard life working in a noisy enviroment. i know i have the tele louder than the missus, because im deafer than her.
she works in a pharmacy, i've spent my life in heavy industry and power stations. Simple.0 -
lol, sorry, but I am cursed with a deaf neighbour! I am woken up every morning at exactly 8.25 by her son phoning and her answering 'YES! I AM OK - NO I DONT NEED ANYTHING! or 'YES I AM OK - YES PICK ME UP LATER!'.
I have had the party wall between us soundproofed (so they said) in the living room as I couldnt hear my own tv! wimbledon was a nightmare as I could hear every ball being hit! before the soundproofing (which cost an arm and a leg), I can still hear her and her equally deaf brother bellowing conversation at each other!
I have to say - I do get a bit worried if she doesnt answer her 8.25 phone call and will go round - only to find that she had gone upstairs and didnt hear the phone!0 -
It most certainly isn't a man thing - my mum is gradually getting deafer and deafer, and has the TV on so loud that it makes my ears hurt. I just wish she'd put in her bl00dy hearing aids a bit more often...0

I live on my own and I like it on loud; it's so we can hear everything that's going on. We turn it up louder when there's a woman in the room for a couple of reasons:
1 - hopefully you'll realise the TV is on loud so we can watch it, and you don't try talking to us
2 - if it's on loud you might actually listen, realise what's going on and not ask us to explain it every 6 minutes.0 -
