Hi ceebeeby, hope you have had a good day.
I have man flu so am currently feeding a cold
Its what they tell you to do you know..... :rotfl: Just keep swimming!0 -
Day 12
Todays Goals are:- At least 5 WW walking points

- Track everything I eat (day 3/7)

- 30 mins DH project

- Put oil in the car

- Look at 0% fee CC transfer for when this one soon runs out
- Have another look for Xmas stocking pattern ... and no excuses!
Four done, two not done! Managed 5.88 miles according to the Ped (26 pro points .... seems a bit strange that you can earn that much that quickly?). Ate exactly 29 points today .... hooray!
I've something on my mind that I think is going to keep me awake tonight again. I've been pondering on it for the past week and thought my friends on MSE can probably best advise.
I'm 'quite' senior at work, but through one thing and another, my job has turned into a bits and pieces job - I do senior stuff, but it's a bit of this and a bit of that with no structure. I have no job description and no job title. Sorry - am I rambling? Anyway, last week, someone asked me would I pick up a 'new bit to add to the mish mash' - I hate saying no, so willingly listened - immediately I said it sounded interesting but far too junior (not that I'm not above myself) I was sent a job description - albeit this would just be to add to the mish mash, and it was clearly graded far below what I am) - I expressed this and was told that they could 'make it more senior' but the bottom line is - they can't ... the job is what it is. I've sort of pondered on it for a week, and then today went to a meeting on it (although I didn't know that was what the meeting was about), once again, expressed caution about the seniority, but once again, was told it was senior (but it's not and everyone knows it's not). I was also informed that it had been made fairly public that I was going to pick up this role - in addition to what I already do. I could actually cry right now writing this - is my contribution really worth that little that I am so devalued?
Sorry to rant everyone - this totally isn't the purpose of a debt free diary - just needed to get it off my chest.0 - At least 5 WW walking points

Oh, that's rubbish that you feel poorly ... and I hope you're feeding it up with lots of nice yummy treats that is making you feel a little better at least.
Also, make sure your hankies are lovely, soft and fluffy for that poor nose!
Stay warm x0 -
Ceebeeby, I wouldn't see it as a negative, they quite clearly do value you and you are obviously coping with your present workload very well, and maybe they thought of you for this "junior" workload as they didn't want to pile any more senior work onto you. As a senior you should be able to do this workload very efficiently and quickly in addition to your current senior workload.
Does that make any sense to you, it does to me, but then I wrote it!0 -
Hi Merlot, it does and thank you for trying to make sense of it!
Regretably, the 'junior' task is going to be very time consuming (more than 50%) and will mean some of the 'senior' things I do, will need to be dropped! It could get to the point where that would be seen as my primary role, which would be like progressive career suicide as effectively I will have dropped 3 grades.
Thank you for the thought though - that was a nice way of putting it :-)0 -
Day 13
I liked Chris Evans' title of his breakfast show .... A poor man is rich if they have the right outlook. Unsurprisingly I hardly slept at all last night. However, this morning is this morning and a new day is here and it's time to make things better.
Today's goals:- 5 WW walking points
- Track everything I eat 4/7
- Be very brave and say no to the job thingamy - causing far too much worry already
- Telephone the insurance company about roof damage
- NSD 3/5 ...?
:
- 0% card for one due to expire soon
- Xmas stocking pattern
PS. I meant to say last night that yesterday wasn't an NSD - I spent 70p on whoopsie fruit, veg and bread.0 -
Okay .... tick one .... have just applied for the Barclaycard 0% 2 year transfer - however, not sure how this works because the limit given wasn't enough to transfer all the debt, so I chose the highest interest ones to transfer - the one with the wee balance, however, collectively this still leaves me with 3 cards but not paying so much interest.0

Hi Ceebeeby,
Sorry yesterday was such a rubbish day for you. I really hope you feel brave enough today to say no to the job and manage to cross it off of your list. If its already causing you worry and lack of sleep I'm guessing if you do take the job on you will end up feeling even worse. Saying no is easier said and done though isnt it ? I hate saying no, infact I very rarely do, then end up stressing myself out as to why on earth I agreed it in the first place and how I'm going to manage to find the time to get it done. Why isnt life nice and easy ?xLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Sorry to hear about your woes.
How can you take it on top of what you do. Were you twiddling your thumbs before? Probably not. What will you give up to it? what resource will you have? Go back and ask for another meeting I say. We will be here for you.
