Savings accounts do not report to credit reference agencies.....

Thanks, this is not a savings account though, although I might change it to one if it means dd's cannot be set up in it
    Thanx

Out of interest OP whats the name of the savings account you have?

I did point out that it used to be a savings account but Ulster Bank since changed the type of account that it is. It is now a Personal Current Account.

All I know is that hubby says it was a savings account which was changed to the account it is now. He didn't say what the name of the account was other than it was a savings account.

Could you ask your hubby the question and let us know?

I found a letter which states it was a dual account which was a savings account. I also had one of these dual accounts it was set up for me by my parents when I was at primary school - a long time ago.

HTH! Can I ask what difference it makes, am I missing something?

Hope you get to the bottom of this.

On the offchance that it is a problem with TCB it might be worth knowing that you can get your cashback paid as an Amazon gift voucher (and you get a 5% bonus for being paid this way). Not useful if you need to get your mitts on the cash but it does mean you don't need to give them any account details.

I don't know if Ulster Bank offers anything similar but I have an arrangement with First Direct whereby they write to me whenever a new DD is set up on my account - if I authorised it I do nothing, if not I ring them and it gets cancelled. Maybe you could ask your bank about it?

I just got through to dennis publishing and explained the situation and they really did not listen to anything I said they just sped through the cancellation like automatic pilot they didnt care how it was set up or why I was cancelling.
I managed to force in a question before she terminated the call, I asked if they could trace the person that set this up. She said yes it was by one of our reps over the phone. It sounded as though she was just saying anything without really looking into it. I asked her what phone number they had for me then and she said they didnt have one, I asked who set it up and she said I myself did over the phone, totally ignoring of what I had said before. I asked what addesss was it for and she said my address, I said what address is that? she quoted a number down the road, I said but thats not my address is it.
I was really angry because she obviously wasnt sure of anything and didnt think it mattered anyway and I feel she was just saying things she wasnt sure of just to get off the phone asap.
I asked her if they could look into it and trace the recording which she says they have, she has taken my number and said they will call back once its been found and listened to. My guess is they wont be able to find it because I don't think it exists, I am sure this will have been set up via cashback site and she was just saying things for the sake of it
    Thanx
