Jo4 are you a member of any survey or cashback sites?

I am a member of Topcashback but I have not given my hubby's bank details to them.

Neither of the two cashback sites I use (Quidco and Topcashback) require nor have my address or postcode are the ones you use different?

Topcashback had my address details but they no longer have as within the last 60 seconds!

I don't believe these can't be traced. I have a policy reference number for both pet insurances that were set up and they know these were created by fraud so they have to deny the cashback to whoever attempted to get it so somewhere along the way they should be able to trace where it came from either by the pet insurance company or the cashback site owner. Wouldnt the pet insurance know which cashback site it was applied for through?
Thanx

You would think so but all they could tell me was that it was set up online on 10th December. Argos said that the person who set it up probably wanted to get cashback.

Just wanted to say that even though some people do not give address details in some of the cashback sites that list that information as optional they still might have it.
For example I do not give my address details in my account on topcashback but when I have had to make a claim for missing cashback they do want to know all your details, address, postcode, phone number and in fact date of birth. So If you have ever had to make a claim they are likely to have it all. Not saying it has got to be topcashback, it could be any of them
Thanx

Today the postman arrived again but this time the scammer has taken out a subscription to a car magazine. By the time I got home from my hospital appointments it was too late to telephone them and cancel it. There are no bank details with the magazine but apparently the dd is going to be taken out of the bank account tomorrow. I have looked hubby's savings account and the dd is not showing there so I don't know where the dd has been set up this time.

I got the third pet insurance cancelled today and they say the person gave the following email address ryanqzr@hotmail.co.uk and the following telephone number 01578 410554. Apparently this pet insurance policy was also taken out on the 10th December.

Is there anything I can do? Hubby & I know we didn't give anyone our details. We don't throw anything out with personal details on it not even our address as we actually burn it - we know it's not environmentally friendly. The only thing I can think of is that I clicked a link on this site around that date and looked at pet insurance but I never entered my hubby's bank details and not the details they have given as for a start our dog is female not male.

Ulster Bank and they have changed it to a current account a few months ago! I wondered how they had set up dd's to come out of a savings account too!

I would contact them and ask them if they can put a blanket block on direct debits being set up on the account.

Normally its not possible to have DDs set up on a savings account.

Is there any reason why they have changed it? Did you want them to?

If there isn't a good reason and you didn't want them to change it ask them to change it back to a savings account, or to open a new savings account and close the current account down.

If they refuse there is nothing stopping you from closing the account and moving the money elsewhere.
I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)
