Skauy I am staying with some good friends who live in the mountains about 4 hours from Bergen. We were planing on using the Norwegian airline, I will look into SAS since i've not yet booked my tickets.

We are very excited about going to Norway, we are going to stay on our friends farm and spend time in the mountains in their cabbin :D

Ohh, how lovely! I live in the middle of the country, but have been to the west and think it's absolutely beautiful - especially in the summer. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time ;)

It's going to be even better now thanks to you!!! SAS are £119 cheaper, and you don't seem to have to pay extra for baggage (is that right) because i was going to pay £48 extra for baggage. So you may have saved me £167 on flights!

Add to that we have been worrying about how to get to Gatwick (and what to do with the car) and how to afford petrol/parking....

Well SAS fly from Heathrow, and my in-laws live 5 miles away from Heathrow!!! Which is saving us money we don't even have!!!

    I am so happy!

You just saved me a fortune and a ton of hassle! We are booking the tickets on payday (15 days to go)!!

Wow! I am so happy I am dizzy :D

Money we don't have and needs to be found Old Style:

    Morning everyone

    All new totals updated.

julie that's fantastic news about the flights ! Wow ! What a saving ! Just goes to show if you shop around you can still shave £££s off holidays/flights.

Still plodding along here, saving money on groceries, cooking from scratch and trying to not spend money as far as is possible :D.

I've started looking around in more detail at house/car insurances as well as utility suppliers as all of my contracts expire this Spring. Hopefully I'm going to save quite a lot by changing over now the tie-in periods are coming to an end :D.

I'm off work today as we're currently closed due to refurb and there's not a great deal for us to do. Tis nice as the kids have a teacher training day so it's worked out really well. I will have to make up the hours tho at a later date. I've also nabbed myself some overtime for when we open again in March - another 3 hours a week. Not a huge amount but it will all go into the 'florida fund'. :T

So, I'm spending the day doing a bit of spring cleaning (I know, I'm a bit early but I have to do it now so I've got time when it comes to spring seed planting ;)). Will do a mealplan for next week too while I've got the time - get the kids involved so they can't moan and say "I don't like that" :rotfl:.

Ohhh and I've listed some things on Ebay too :j. Go me ! :rotfl:

What wonderful news! I'm so happy that you've found such huge savings :D That really is quite a lot, isn't it?

I read that you didn't know where you were going to find the spending money from, so I'm glad the money saved can be put towards that, instead!

I've only flown with SAS twice and both times my flight was paid for by family members, but my boyfriend did say to me the other day that Norwegian add prices on throughout the booking for different things, whereas with SAS you get the full price to start with, so I hope that is correct!

It's a small fortune! I thank you so much! I didn't think of shopping around... my friends told me Norwegian saved them the most money in the summer when they came here you see...

yes, that is correct. Norweigian add baggage... SAS did not. But I did look at the flight details and SAS will book me on a BMI flight... and I looked at BMI and it's another £20 less!!!

I am so pleased... I book the tickets in 14 days... (I am counting) and then I might have all my money ducks in a row.

Thank you (PS. I actually danced around the house I was so happy... I am crazy!)

You're very welcome! I'm glad my suggestion helped. I don't always shop around either - usually out of laziness, but it certainly is worth it!
Norwegian sometimes are very cheap, but I think you have to be very flexible with your days. A while ago I saw a price of £30 for a one way ticket, and the next day it was about £450 - such madness!
I would never have thought of BMI or probably even noticed that's who I'd be flying with, so well done on even more savings!

Ooh - 14 days - not long now. :) It's always exciting to have something like that to look forward to.

Ah, do dance and go crazy - I'm sure I'd do the same! He he.

It was my DH who noticed! I can't take all the credit...!

    Hello all,

Majjak, please can you updated my total saved to £40.95

I have technically saved more than that since I last posted, but I have various pots for things, and this time the holiday pot has come around again :D

Just goes to show how much you can save, every bit helps as they say.
