MummyEm thanks for the advice I have asked the buyer to agree to cancel the transaction. I will wait for Roo to come before re-listing it now.
Majjak: DH destroyed a Gold ring, and we got a £700 quote for fixing it (HA!!!!)... so he sold it for scrap and we got £95 for the holiday
DH sold a watch on eBay, because of the Bike issue he said that i could have the money, but after the bike is sold anything over £50 (after fees) is his! Can't say fairer!
AND I have a lead on £150, so might have most the money I need to find by the end of February!!! I need to set a new challange!

Hi, I would like to join up please.
Using CC to pay for holidys was one of the main reasons I got into debt in the first place. After working so hard to become debt free I don't want to fall back into bad habits.
However, I have stupidly booked a holiday to Madeira in June 2012 for myself and OH. Now panicing about how to pay for it. It is all inclusive and the total cost was £1500. Have paid a deposit of £350 so that leaves £1150 to find before end March:eek:
We won't need too much spending money, but will need petrol, airport parking, etc.
So I hope to save a total of £1660.00 before June 2012.
I have already joined the Make £2012 in 2012 Challenge, so anything made there will also go towards this.
I also have a few days overtime planned so will throw that at it. OH is retired but he does have a temp delivery job for a few weeks in May which should bring in a few hundred pound.
We already plan menus and keep food budget as low as possible so don't think there is much else we can do there. Petrol seems to be one of our highest costs at the minute, so will try to reduce this by using bike for short trips.
Julia - you are right Jan is a good time to sell exercise equipment - just remebered that we have an exercise machine in the shed. Will get OH to give it a clean and get it on ebay - thanks for the idea.:)0 -

Just checked how much these have been selling for on Ebay - last 3 had no bids even though starting bid was 99p. Cost me £180 new  Maybe I wont bother selling after all.0 -
Morning everyone
jess i've added you to the first pageYou can always put a reserve on your exercise equipment? Keep an eye on how much they sell for, I think most people start auctions at 99p now so they don't have to pay !
ddel if you let me know where you want to go, when and how much you'd like to save, I can add those details to the first page for you too
julie you're going great guns ! :T
DS has a footie match this morning so we're off out shortly. I love to watch him play (goalkeeper) but at this time of the year, it's not much fun standing in the freezing cold !
Did a big shop yesterday, £65, but I have everything for just over a week. There are 6 of us so I don't think I do too badly, plus I bought some bits for my stockpile. I think I'm ok for washing powder and conditioner for a good 6 months so I'm not buying any more for a while, even if it is on offer !
It was originally £90 but with a few vouchers I managed to get the bill down a bit.
If my sums are right, I should be able to put at least £300 away for our holiday out of DH's wages, and possibly another £100 out of mine :j. No figures added yet though, not until I know for definite.
Dinner tonight is roast pork (LO from new year). I'm mealplanning too as it helps with shopping and sticking to a budget.
Right I need to go get dressed, didn't get up until 10am  :eek:Save £12K challenge 2015 # 173£0.00/£10,0000 -
£50 Paypal money has now hit my account so total now is £106.07. I have been listing on ebay and have several items with bids on 8/43 so we're getting there. 5 of these end today so will be able to add to my total soon.
I cleared out my whole wardrobe (also following the decluttering thread on OS). This has added to my ebay pile. Seems to be never ending, the more I sell, the bigger the pile but at least it's money coming in.
Jess - It's a free listing weekend this weekend. Why not list it at a £50 starting price (or whatever you'd be happy with). I often do this with items that I am only prepared to part with for a decent amount, that way, I don't get charged if they don't sell. Some people do just start at 99p just because it's free and just aren't bothered what they get for that item. I do with items I just want out of the way. I also list items at 99p if I've listed them a couple of times for more but they haven't sold, just to get them out of the house!0 -
I finally received my wages yesterday, so today I have been able to put some money away. I've even opened a new savings account especially for this. (I'm surprised by how easy it was to open it!) And as I had more money than I thought I would left over from last month , I've been able to save a little more than I planned. So now I have a total of £1300 saved0

Thanks, JulieGeorgiana! I read that you're saving to go to Norway. Do you mind if I ask where exactly and which airline you're using? I live in Norway but visit England fairly often to see my family. I use the Norwegian airline (which I've never had any problems with) but SAS in my opinion is a little better (although I think only goes direct to the southern cities in Norway from London). Anyway, I hope you'll have a lovely time when you go. Good luck with the saving!0
