Good afternoon all. Yes my 'sistercas' savings of a quid a day worked brilliantly and I shall do it again from 1st January.
I'm just back for a couple of days from youngest dd's then I shall be off gadding about again over the New Year.I had a smashing Christmas between the two girls house's, and some lovely presents lots of books that I wanted and loads of other boits and bobs. This morning we managed to get an emergency appointment for Dd at the dentist as she has been suffering poor lass over the holiday, apparently one of her wisdom teeth needs removing but nort the one she was expecting so she has to have two out under gas within the next week.Bless her she was climbing the walls last night and I seriously was quite worried as she normally has a high pain threshold (she has had five children so knows a bit about discomfort )But her dentist was great and she has some anti bios to help with the infection which is touching on the nerve. It also gave her dreadful earache so she has been in the wars poor lass. She is back to work tomorrow for two days then off until next Tuesday.her OH is still off until next week so I too am having a little 'grown-up ' break from my little lads.
I bought my first couple of presents today from Lloyds the chemist where we went to get her prescription filled .Three Lynx 'Africa ' gift sets of shower stuff and deodorant at 29p each, such a bargain as I have a tribe of grandsons and various DGD boyfriends they are going into my Christmas 2012 box for next year, now that is money saving I think.
The washing machine is on and I am just going to put my feet up and relax with a cuppa and a couple of my 'posh biscuits' that were a gift from my eldest DD. Duchy of Cornwall shortbreads made with double cream and extremly moreish .Back to normal eating next Sunday
:) I hope you all have a smashing New Year and I wish all of you a very happy and healthy one as well
Take care all

Lovely weather here as well and washing already on line, must fo and check it soon, I have resorted to using my TD as storage for my pots and onions as since I found this site I havent used it:rotfl:
Had HN tom soup for lunch from yesterday and another freezer meal, not sure what this one is either but yesterdays was curry so hoping this one is something different, I must make it a new resolution to label them:rotfl:
I have set myself a few challanges for the new year and I hope I dont fail, I will try hard and keep to them but Im terrible at beating myself up if I think Im failing, I wish I could accept that sometimes you have to step back and take another look at things. One thing I am going to do is learn how to crochet as a lot of ladies (and perhaps men) seem to be doing it, I used to years ago but have havent done any for yonks, so Im off to buy some wool and hook later and have a go.
Hope everyone had a good Xmas and all survived the food, booze and merriment

OHs mum treated us to lunch
I had chicken, OH had steak so that should save needing to cook tonight, will do omlette or something later if OH if gets hungry, or a picnic dinner and we've plenty of nibbles.
Wash no 3. is on,and i hope the first two loads dry soon! will do bedding next as that can go on the line and doesn't need to be dry before the end of today.
Still need to do lunches but there is plenty of time for that. waiting for my kindle to recharge so i can do some more reading. Might have a long bath later and start using some of my smellies i got for christmas...i think i have enough to last till next year!!
Thought i might spend some of my john lewis vouchers on craft kits to give me something to do of an evening/weekend that i can get my teeth into and will distract me from the pub.Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

Went to Clarks Village and bought some really good bargains for DH's b/day on 12th Jan. and my Nephews B/day on 4th Jan. Just need to get something for my DB1 who's B/day is on the 29th Jan. Bought personalised large posh xmas cards for next years crimble for 49p each. I have enough xmas wrapping paper to cover Somerset so passed on those. Also got another 6 pressies for other family, we have a load in May and December,,,, mmhhhhh wonder if the power cuts were happening 9 mths earlier.
I came home and made turkey curry for tomorrows dinner, made stock from the carcas, chunked up the LO beef joint ready for a stroganoff all portioned and frozen.
Non OS,
Had a phone call from our DF to say her Dad died on Christmas morning, she left it until after the festivities as she didn't want to put a downer on things. Our friend's Dad was a true excentric Gent, we had known him for over 30yrs and have very happy memories of him, he held the most fantastic parties. He and his wife, also our close friend, deceided to divorce after 39yrs. They lived in such a huge mansion that he was able to have the ground floor and west wing, our friend, his wife had the top floor and the east wing. Whenever they had parties it would be held on the middle floor, a strange set up but it worked. We will miss a beautiful friend, 3rd loss this year counting my DB2.
Candle lit, special words said. I'm going to meet my DFS tomorrow, his daughter and ex wife. We have lots to remember and good times to share.
Off to look at the glorious pink and grey skies here. x0 -

Afternoon All
Arrived safely at Croughton, legs down, heating on, glad we had ATC on our 'van with the wind. Also managed to miss many of the traffic problems, either on the other side or further on from where we turned off. Just a short hop tomorrow to a school near Highclere Castle (shame it is not open) for the NY weekend. Very OS (if you ignore the fuel used) around £100 for both of us, with professional entertainment for 2 nights, hot meals each night, and wine/beer for the 2 main nights, and lovely to see many of our friends from the southern half of the country. On electric tonight, so massive charge up of all batteries underway.
OS - fridge emptied into this one, and LO buffet for lunch today, with other food to use up for tea:D:D
Findingmyway - Please check your M&D have a filter on their upstairs extension, you need one on every extension not just the router one.
:grouphug: Molly, Lou, esmf, LW and anyone else not feeling good at the moment, have a dodgy hug :grouphug:
I really get very angry at young call centre workers think that because you are the wrong side of 50 and female you know nothing about computers, which in my case I started with them before they were in nappies!:mad::mad::mad::mad:

bramble - You should be able to read your Kindle whilst it charges. I bought an extra long lead so I can read in bed, and it can charge at the wall. I'm too scared to take my Kindle in the bath!
Just met up with my friend from Camp America. We must have looked a right pair, she is full of a cold and I am all spaced out due to vertigo meds! :rotfl:. but we had a nice hot chocolate and gossip. I popped to New Look and George to see what shoes they had in the sales cos I'm a size 9 and sometimes can get a bargain in the sales. I found a lovely pair of silver sparkly heels for £7 which will be fab for next Xmas
. Also went to M&S for some yogurt, they had lots of YS food stuff but was only reduced by about 30p! So left it all.
It's freezing and blowing a gale now here
I'm going to wrap up in layers and take my duvet to the couch and watch a film I think. No uni work today, can't see well enough - words jumping everywhere!
Have a good evening all
