Morning All,
HH - how annoying about BT. Hope they manage to sort it soon. My parents are with BT and whenever they use the phone upstairs their internet goes off, and have to reset the whole thing. This only happens upstairs, and not with the downstairs phone.
FB - sounds like you had a lovely time yesterday. Is Camp America one of those working holidays where you work in a ski resort or somewhere? I always wanted to do that, I regret not doing it now.
I am feeling like a right miserable g*t today. I think its just the end of year blues, where I look at the past year, feel like I haven't achieved much and then im overcome with fear when I think of the next year and all I want to achieve and the likelihood of actually achieving any of it. This month loads of my old school and university friends have got engaged or had children and Im starting to feel a little left behind as I dont even have any prospects at the moment.
Oh well, I have one of my best friends coming to stay with me on Friday, so I best get on with the cleaning so my place doesn't look like a bomb just hit.
Have a good day everyone0 -

Morning all!
I slept until 7.30am today (a 3 and a half hour lay-in!) but I did wake 3 times during the night thought!
Today DH is going to wash and clean my car (I have someone who might be interested in buying it once the baby is born!) and after he is going to take me for a walk in the park, and maybe play Rugby with DS and his new ball
The washing is on, and I need to get a loaf on today (the boys normally use a loaf a day and they are still on the loaf i made a week ago... DH has been making jacket potatoes for him and DS each day for lunch instead)! I am sorting through some finance paperwork today and filing it away. And DS is having a friend stay the night I think.
Last night DH made Granary Shortcrust Pastry (it was very buttery and crumbled badly... not sure if it was the flour or the Husband!) but we used cookie cutters and made our pie like a cobbler! The Pie was Christmas Leftover Pie with tons of veg and meat we had left... it was really nice! We were amazed that we had enough filling for a second pie for tonight... so dinner is sorted
On the baby front... Well I got all excited last night when I started having contractions which hurt... but alas, they were faulse ones again! The Braxton Hicks have been non-stop since yesterday morning, and are making me feel quite sea sick! I think Roo is staying inside for a while yet
Anyway, I hope everyone has a great day xxx
Adalight you sound like my Gran... if there is one cup... she washes it up! She won't let us in out kitchen when she visits, and last time we had my DH Confirmation and she washed up after 18 people! She's in the 80's!!!!!We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. FMW - Camp America is where you go work at a summer camp in the USA. I worked at a camp for disadvantaged kids in New Jersey for 12 weeks in summer 2008, and then travelled around the States for a month after. It was truely the best thng I ever did!
. As cheesey as it sounds I learnt alot about myself doing it! It was the most challenging/scary thing I've done, but I gained so much from it. I wouldn't have my current job now if I hadn't done it. And I made so many lovely friends there, who I know will be lifelong friends
. One of them was the girl in New Zealand whose wedding I went to in Nov! It's never too late to do it or something similar if you fancy it!

Morning ladies,
Yesterday was much as planned, very relaxing and not much doing. I'm aching a bit today though so I suspect I need some exercise and I might go out in the garden later to do a bit of tidying and stretch myself a little.
I had to drop a gift off to my Mums work yesterday as one of the lovely ladies there had sent me a gift that I wan't expecting so I wrapped one of the three boxes of Thorntons that we'd received andd took it over. Now mum works in a seconds store for M&S (amongst other big names) and she knew I'd been hankering after some new pans so she'd put by some posh Autograph Range ones which are stainless steel with copper bottoms and mega swish :rotfl:(I do know they are just saucepans). So I bought them for the princely sum of £25.06. Looked on the M&S website when I got home to see if I could find a matching frying pan and they are £85 in the shops
. I am kind of sad to be getting rid of my old pans though as they were the first ting MrS and I bought when we moved in together over 16 years ago. We paid £50 for Tefal non stick pans (4 of, with a frying pan too) and I loved them dearly. They've been burned, dinted, chipped and treated poorly over the years and truth be told they'd probaly last another two or three years at a push, but I know it's time to let them go - silly how we can be attached to something so normal. I used the new pans last night, and everything cooked quicker than I was expecting so they may take a little getting used to - not quite sure how this worked! I just need to find a frying pan now. I don't like non stick so it needs to be stainless steel inside and out and with a good thick bottom.
I also tackled the leftovers yeatrday -we had a whole salmon this year as I don't eat meat and fancied something different. The great big thing was 2kg and fed three of us for Christmas day lunch, three for dinner as a salad ingredient and two for boxing day lunch with salad. Mum took home a portion for her lunch on boxing day. Boxing day tea was a buffet and I did a few rounds of salmon butties and some flakes in a dish for munching, probably another two meals worth. Yesterday we had it with salad (again) at lunch and at dinner I made Salmon en Croute for four and then froze the remainder (4 meals worth). So in all my salmon has provided 21 portions for less than £20. Quite pleased with that - I've always been a lttle daunted when I've seen whole salmon in the YS area but I may well buy the next one I see and portion it and cook. Sometimes there are 4 or 5 in there for less than £10.
I didn't sleep too well last night - I think I'm worrying about giving up work as I'm having similar dreams about telling them and them being cross or not being around for me to tell them so I have to keep going :rotfl:.
Today we wont be going out, although I've not really got any chores to be done. I've a friend coming around to have her nails done if she doesn't go into labour first
and that should be it although I'm sure I'll find something to do - there's a blind waiting to go up in the utility room that I've been putting off.... 0 -
Morning All!
Hester - how truly frustrating! Wouldn't you just like to bash their heads together! Hopefully all will be back to normal soon.
Have just been to the gym and now we're getting ready to visit friends for the day.
Just wondering hpw everyone else fared with their "sistercas" Christmas savings?? I was fine until the day in April I needed some change...and sadly, that was it. However I am going to start again now!= as the idea was brilliant!
Hope you all have great days....Roo, time to make an apearance! Your honorary aunts on here are getting impatient!
Take care.Resolution:

Morning All,
HH my DH worked for BT for 10 yrs. He always says it's the worse place he has ever worked with the most incompetent people and no kind of structure for sharing information. That's why we are with Virgin although I am sure they are all as bad as one another, I hope you get sorted.
Still struggling with a sore throat and bad chest. DH is at work this morning but should be back around lunch and the two boys are still asleep.
The house is reasonably tidy and the washing caught up on so will have a restful morning. DGS is coming to stay tonight while his mum and dad go out for a meal so it will be busy later although we love having him
Tea tonight will be gammon and sw chips for a change. Need to call and pick up a few bits from the suprmarket, have run out of onions and I use those for everything.
The tree is also getting on my nerves but will try and put up with it until Sunday, I usually take it down on New Years Day.
Will start stripping the downstairs loo in the next few days as that is one of the jobs to do before we put the house up for sale, I have made DH a list:D just hoping we can sell fairly quickly.
Anyway have a good Wednesday whatever your up to J xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.
Working hard to get rid of our debt.0 -
Morning all!
Went to lidl bright and early this morning to do shop. Mostly fresh veg and some meat. A few treats such as cranberry juice to mix with vodka/sparkling water.
OH has gone to the yard and is working tomorrow so need to make him lunch, we've still got chicken wings and sausage rolls in the freezer so will make him some of them to go with a sarnie or two.
Back to OS living in a big way today. Wash no. 2 is in the machine, have about 50 left to go!!! Will spend today planning finances etc for the upcoming year. Need to stock check and do a meal plan of sorts.
Hope everyone has a lovely day today

Morning ladies, windy here today but dry so bed sheets blowing on the line.Dd rash is back , so she is tucked up in bed again feeling unwell, spoke to the 'triage nurse' at drs and she is going to get gp to phone me after am surgery.
Other than that all is well.
Lounge looks clean and tidy again , have slowly and sneakly been taking things down and packing away, I don't do ceiling decs but have lots of snow globes, christmas candles etc dotted over the place. Am just left with tree and door wreath to take down. Will leave them till sunday.
Dinner is baked spuds with salad and last of the turkey and ham , with pickles etc. So glad I didnt go as mad as usual with all the 'christmas goodies' as most of it still sits on /under the coffee table unopened atm.
My Ex put through some cards last night with £25 in for each of the kids , They appreciate everything they get normally but ds2 got really het up about it as he staid there for a few days before Christmas and apparently his dad has said that he was giving them £250 each. Now I would never have believed that in a million years but why tell your kid something and do something else. Keeping quiet , nowt to do with me. Am slightly shocked about kids reactions , thought they would be used to being let down by him by now.;);)
Right am off to put another load in the wm and have some coffee and pate on toast as I am bleeding starving.
Hope good days are had by all.Paul Walker , in my dreams;)0
