Not sure where the excitement is...possibly lost under the feeling of needing to get organised packing and decluttering but getting nowhere or the feeling that I still don't quite know where I'm going to find the money to pay the deposit and first months rent as it's all due before payday without sticking it on the credit card and enjoying the extra fees that'll incur. But I'll get there, money for mystery shopping is trickling in which will help and so far I still have over £100 in my day to day spendy account from last months transfer leaving this months budgeted spendy money in the bills account towards it all. The bloke knew I was here last night and knew I was still half asleep in his bed when he went to work at dark am this morning, possibly doesnt realise I'm still here...although I am leaving shortly as I've a mystery shop to do before work walking distance from camp.
It's the joint account so while I have asked him to attempt to deal with it under the DD guarantee he clearly won't bother, and the bank don't want to deal with me despite my name still being on the account as I did the paperwork to remove myself from it and gave it to them but the dd's were taken before it was actioned.

As certainly the water bill I have all the paperwork for and will be closing the account soon anyway I may as well ask them to return it to me now instead of waiting for them to do it in 3 weeks time when I've moved. The upside is that even with the duplicate payments removed the bill is paid in full for until April so once am in the new place I won't need to worry about it for a few months.

Mystery shop done and written up, whilst I was out I also nabbed a quidco check in which takes my total owed over the £1 threshold, not alot but since I'm seriously scraping the barrel this month to avoid putting too much on the credit card I'll take even that!

Also managed to do a survey this evening for the foresty company so should get another £4 landing in my paypal account tomorrow at some point ready to be bounced straight in to the bank account.

Bought the light bulbs I need to replace the blown one in the living room, was cheaper to get a twin pack than buy it individually so am hoping the other one will be the right type for the shed light as that one went ages ago but since I don't ever need it haven't changed it.

Slowly creeping towards the swagbucks total I'm aiming for too, although the amount of time spent with the bloke has pushed back the date I expected to cash out by almost a week, so I do need to get him to go away for a couple of days so I can blitz it and get back on track fairly soon - he thinks the stuff I do online is a slight waste of time but he'll come around to the idea that while we're sat on the sofa watching rubbish tv I'll have the lappy next to me running something mindless like SBTV.

Quidco have sent me the payment confirmation email so I have £1.20 ish headed to my bank account.

It seems that the downside to the bloke is that he is a financial nightmare - a week after payday and hes completely skint! Have gently suggested that he really needs to learn how to budget better and quite possibly stop handing over most of his salary to the ex.

He wants to get a decent phone, but at the moment can't afford a smart phone handset and his credit rating is too shocking to even consider getting a SIM only contract - and there is noway on earth I think he'd be safe introduced to online shopping! So while I have explained what the Quidco app is and why I was using it while we were out and about right now the concept is useless to him. Same as when we were talking about my mystery shopping while I was writing up a report, he can't get his head around the idea that I do alot more when I'm feeling skint even though its a time consuming hassle to write them up.

Pluses this week I have plenty of overtime booked again. I have a handful of mystery shops booked, and while the ex is still being a pita over the joint account he's had a letter from the TV licence people which said they're refunding any money paid towards next years licence and will write again when the current one is due to expire - by my rough guesstimates there should be at least 3 months of payments being refunded (since from when I bought mine in summer they work it so you effectively pay for half up front, dd the rest and once those 6 are paid the rest is towards next years fee). The water bill money I'll just get refunded when I move out of here and send him a cheque...or do it in pennies - am sure by boss would order an extra bag of copper on our weekly drop off if I asked her to :D

What does he want it for? If he wants a PDA-ish functionality, then there's plenty older ones to choose from. If he wants brand-spanking new flash poseur value - then he can expect his wallet to be spanked and branded.

*Most* people do more when they're skint. Whether it's working extra hours overtime (if available) or getting a second job. I can't see why it's such an alien concept to him.

Now, now - you've maintained the moral high-ground so far. Though I suppose there's no real harm in putting "(Mr Potato Head)" as a suffix to his name on the cheque... ;)

In his words 'I couldnt be bothered with the faffing' which is fair enough if he doesnt mind being permanently skint. In the mean time I'll keep chipping away at my credit cards and the money I need to find by the end of the month by doing the faffing about stuff.

As for what he wants in a phone I suspect something that actually is capable of downloading apps, but I think he wants to try and get something on contract so he can get something reasonably up todate (in the meantime I'll need to gently suggest again that he needs to not pay so much of his ex's rent and bills since shes now working).

That's the time-old trade off between a person's free time, their labours and the money they get coming in. I can't be bothered with most of it either, but if I was skint enough to be moaning about it, I would.

Apps to do what? This is a very important question: Even my cheapio nastio 2mm square screen Nokia will run apps - just not ones I'd like.

Agreed but he feels guilty as he left her with their son (although the split was a mutual agreement, and from what other people have said she wasn't exactly bothered when he left), so has carried on paying most of the rent and bills as she was planning to be a sahm. But his lack of decent phone and finacial mess is his issue, not mine and will remain that way for a very long time.

This afternoon I feel like I've done very little, but I've done some studying, been busy swagbucking while I've been online - have met my personal daily target but am keeping on going to see what I can do to claw back some of the time I've 'slipped' from when I hoped to redeem (ie before I move, whereas now it looks like after I move). And have generated another two bin bags of stuff to get rid of on bin day as well as another bag of recycling. I've cleared off the big computer desk and will photograph it to list online tomorrow morning.

Submitted the usual collection of info to shop and scan - must remember to phone them soon to tell them I'm changing my address.

    Another mystery shop written up.

And have sent off for another Mccains Sharer bowl - to be sent to a parents address as the last one took three weeks to be sent and I'll be moving by then, that way if it arrives before I move they can bring it down with them or if not can be retrieved at some point when I visit around Christmas.
