I presume because as well as being antisocial and rather boring he thinks people will keep inviting him out regardless of how often he says he'll be there and doesnt bother - or as is my preferred option, hes boring and antisocial but likes to pretend otherwise.
I'm pretty much a loner in many ways but if I say I'll be somewhere with my friends then I'll go do it, if I'm not sure I can do something I don't say I can etc, bit like yesterday wasn't sure I was going so spoke to one of the guys a few days before and said I was thinking about it but couldnt confirm until I was on the train, which is exactly what I did.
Actually I don't think I maimed anyone at all mainly because the person I would happily hurt who was out with us kept well out of my way.
I think I'll just throw them away, I have email for my mate who's going away, and as he won't have his phone while hes working abroad it's not like I'll be missing out by not having his current number.
Indeed, feels like I am making progress despite the hopeless salary I earn and stupidly expensive area I live in. And I'm still doing more fun stuff than I ever did when I was only paying half of the living expenses! It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

I would guess that those two facts are related...scubaangel wrote: »Indeed, feels like I am making progress despite the hopeless salary I earn and stupidly expensive area I live in.
Any plans to fix that?scubaangel wrote: »And I'm still doing more fun stuff than I ever did when I was only paying half of the living expenses!

Y'know I don't think the two are linked as shes utterly oblivious to the fact that quite a few of us can't stand her!
Which bit - am still half heartedly job hunting in this area but at the moment am leaning more towards the moving back up north where it's cheaper to live option, the trade off on that is that I'm unlikely to find a job paying more than I earn now and I still don't really know what I want to do long term so would likely be another 'dead end' type job. But as I'm coping now paying out less in rent would free up a fairly big chunk of money every month for debt repayment/fun. But I don't need to decide properly until the end of the year as thats when my lease runs to.It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

It was a recent bit of research that showed that contrary to popular belief, narcissists know they're annoying.
OK, they don't care - but self-awareness is a step forward... :rotfl:scubaangel wrote: »Which bit - am still half heartedly job hunting in this area but at the moment am leaning more towards the moving back up north where it's cheaper to live option, the trade off on that is that I'm unlikely to find a job paying more than I earn now
What you earn is unimportant (yes! really!) - it's you disposable income that's important. Hexham was said to be the richest town in the UK, because cost of living (IOW housing) was so cheap, but wages were good.scubaangel wrote: »and I still don't really know what I want to do long term so would likely be another 'dead end' type job.
It's only a dead-end job if it has no opportunities to develop. Not knowing whether you want to do it, does not make a job dead-end.scubaangel wrote: »But as I'm coping now paying out less in rent would free up a fairly big chunk of money every month for debt repayment/fun. Start looking at houses/jobs early. So by the time you can make a decision, you already know the decision you want to make."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

True, and at the moment I have very little disposable income, while moving home in a job with a similar salary I'd be much better off.
The sort of work I do now is the sort of thing I'm likely to end up doing again - and not many people ever manage to make a career out of it, at least not with my current employer and I can't see that it' much different with any company in the same field.
I already know the housing market in the area, jobs wise it'll be a case of take what I can get and move on when I can find a better one (that said that was the same plan as I had when I moved here!). Short term if I do go back I'll most likely live with a parent for a little while with my housestuff in storage, then when I have a job find a house fairly close to it. But its a few months away yet so I can deal with the details nearer the time, esp as there is still an outside chance that I'll find a better job here, and decide to stay in this area. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Today I have achieved the square root of sod all, had to stay in most of the day as the handy man was in fixing the leaky bath - apparently it didnt just need resealing but had come loose from the wall too so he's redone the support for it, and resealed it. Tomorrow he's coming back to do something about the marks on the wall and ceiling from where the water started coming through. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

My magnolia living room wall now has a white patch where it's been painted with anti stain stuff - apparently if the LL wants it repainting they'll be in touch again. Meh.
Work was its usual very quiet self, the lovely bloke was in and once again I bottled it when being hit over the head by hints being dropped - how many men ask a girl about her love life, and then tell her they tried internet dating and decided they didn't like it because they prefer to speak to people in real life so are still enjoying the same level of 'what love life' lifestyle. Gah I really really need to woman up and give him my number next time he drops hints like that, or join the dating site and seek him out, but that just seems stalkerish......
Mystery shop done, so my car now has fuel and I have milk, plus I've downloaded the app for a fuel survey I've been invited to complete, every time I fill my car up I have to log it between Sept and the end of Nov. The fuel as normal was paid for on the barclaycard so have already transferred the money from my MS float account. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

And its payday!
The usual cash dispatched to my spends account and to my car related savings account. Am very tempted to see if I have enough cash after paying the rest of the bills this month to see if I've enough to cover my Council Tax for the rest of the year, am thinking if I do then its a little bit less to worry about until next April. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Strike while the iron is hot. At least you're understanding they're hints at the time, and not 3 months after the event like I tend to.
Don't join the dating site, just ask him. He won't bite.
Maybe just nibble a little..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

But stalking is sooo much more fun
I think he suffers from the same affliction as you do, since I'm dropping just as many hints which he's not picking up on at all, and I don't think its that hes a shy bloke particularly - but since I tend to drop hints like sledgehammers and am usually around work colleagues I might be being too subtle!
Actually my drinking buddy round the corner keeps telling me I need to ask him out just so she can look at him while he talks.....he was filmed for some publicity stuff a while back which we found when I was talked in to googling him before I went on holiday.
And I'd be upset if I asked him out and he didn't at least try to nibble
Anyway work was nice and boring again, need to write a shopping list and take myself out to buy some food at some point this afternoon but for now all I want to do is sleep on the sofa. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.
