Whoop whoop, today I have good news, one of my good friends who left where I work for forrin shores a couple of months back is home for a holiday, so he's planning to come over for a few drinks tomorrow after I finish my OU work. :D

I've missed him, he was great while I was dealing with the break up with the former Mr S and is one of a very small number of guy friends who I've never once felt uncomfortable around - which given people tend to refer to him as a lizard makes me wonder briefly what is so terrible about me that he's never exhibited those characteristics to me, and then fractions of a second later I remember that hes my mate and I don't want him to start doing silly stuff like that.

Ahh, that's lovely - bet you're all smiley-happy today. May your evening be fab, and your hangover short...;)

And I've a friend like that....morals of the average alley cat generally, but lovely with me. I decided years ago that he's a fluffy bunny because he's too damn scared of all the dodgy stuff I know about him (we've been friends most of our lives). Fine by me! :rotfl:

OU work finished, now just waiting for my mate to arrive.

In actual money saving news today I;ve had an email confirming the completion of a webforum and asking me how I want to be paid for it, cheque or paypal - have requested paypal as it means I don't have to much around getting to a bank.

I have updated my whatsthecost with the balance transfer info still saying 60 months to clear it but once am home from my holiday I can throw all my extra cash at the card to start bringing it down again. Plus the old credit card co have sent me a letter telling me I can have 6 months interest free on bt's - so might look at transfering a small amount back on to it to take advantage of that, but needto sit and do the maths to see if it's worthwhile right now or leave it til the next time they send me a similar offer as they seem to come through fairly regularly.

I'm also still plugging away at earning the swagbucks, need to earn less than 8000 to get to my next £100 payout which I reckon should take about 5 weeks to earn, its just a shame that this month I won't be able to make the monthly earning challenge because of the holiday as the bonus for managing that would be a nice boost towards the total. Now the OU work is done I think I'm going to focus on the tasks to see what I can clock up whilst I wait, as I've done my cruise of the survey sites and have nothing left to attempt on those.

Just managed to reach the redeption level at myview so have ordered a £5 amazon voucher :)

The amazon voucher was in my inbox when I got up this morning.

Had a great night in the pub discussing if Canal pike would prefer small children or small dogs as bait....evil fibre glass swans and the finer points of the pub wine menu as we attempted to drink a large part of it. This morning saw us getting up to discover two glasses of wine on the kitchen counter (I still cannot believe we left wine!) and taking a walk to the local greasy spoon for breakfast sat out in the sun before I had to face that work thing that is such a barrier to being able to go out and have fun.

Home again, absolutely knackered as the flight landed at midnight and after finding coffee, the car and reaching the M25 to discover a traffic jam at 0130, and a minor detour around North London on the way to the west to drop off my sister it was almost 4am by the time I got home.

Had to be up relatively early this morning for a doctors appointment to deal with the second ot the previously mentioned problems, thankfully it looks like it'll all be sorted after my follow up tomorrow and a short course of some kind of drugs (I have to confess I was too tired to pay any attention at all to what the Dr was telling me).

So while my washing is in the machine I've got SBTV running and am attempting to make a dent in the large number of emails I've rec'd over the last week.

Second Dr visited and I have three sets of tablets some of which are antibiotics - which is a pain as it means no drinking for a week, and my mate is planning to come stay again at some point this week. Ahh well I might drag him in to town to watch something incredibly girly at the cinema. :)

I often don't find traffic jams at 5:30 pm...I like where I live...

I like where I live, I just dont like flying when we have to use the airport on the opposite side of London - given my sister and I have managed to escape our home town and both live within 30 miles of each other, roughly half way between Heathrow and Gatwick it stunned me that we ended up with Luton and Stanstead as our choice of flights!

TBH I have never driven on the M25 and not seen a traffic jam, although had I realised there was going to be a jam I'd have gone the other way around instead of M25 and then through North London.

I maintain that I only need one set of drugs - since the painkillers and antibiotics both say alcohol is banned I really ought to be able to live without them since booze can be used as an antiseptic and does numb pain.

Well its either cinema or pub and I'm the one who would be tortured in the pub without so much as even a small glass of wine I reckon that its my house hes staying in then I get to choose - although we did mention possibly going bowling but I bowl best after a drink or two.....

Financially today looks quite good, have enough cash in my bills account to cover everything except next months rent which is good as I've not been paid yet this month. And having been away my 'spends' account is looking healthier than usual, so have dispatched an extra payment to the barclaycard which has covered the relatively small amount of holiday spending I did before I went -y'know the boring stuff like suncream.

I also need to sort out the best exchange rates to get my left over euro notes turned back in to £ so I can pay that off my credit card too.

Reached the payout threshold on crowdology so requested the £3.92 sent to my paypal account, happily they send it instantly so have withdrawn £30 to my bank account, have paid the same amount off the old credit card as it is more than this months min payment so any extra money can now be paid off the MBNA card to start bringing that balance down - at the moment the combined min payments are greater than the fixed amount I was paying off the old card, should take a couple of months to pull it back below that amount if I'm not making extra payments.

I've also managed to find my joint account debit card and what I think is the PIN for it so I can go to the bank tomorrow and see about withdrawing my half of whatever is left in the account and then pay in a cheque which was sent to my ex at this address I opened by accident while I was sorting the post holiday post.

Trying to write a shopping list to take with me while I sort out food for the weekend but can't decide what's worth getting for us, I think tonight I'm going to do something like fajitas as its easy and fairly quick but no idea what else to get.

Hey! I must be blessed in that regard then. :)

Traffic jams were a rarity for me (standing traffic, rather than slow - virtually all traffic is slow to me... ;) )

Though this may be because I usually only travelled on it 10pm on a Thursday, or 10am on a Sunday. Thankfully - I don't do that any more. If traffic jams were that frequent for me, I'd be "seeking alternative routes". I seem to have developed a bit of a thing for rattling through country lanes...

    Loosens the action?

That's a lot nicer than my XOH, who just raided the joint account once the mortgage payment had cleared. She didn't actually get much money in return for the "loss of reputation" as I'd already given us both an interim payment.
