8.35 (tesco value + offers) + 4.40 (bull ring) + 6.90 (another tesco!) + 7.26 (aldi) = 2 people fed for a week = £27.91 (2 people for one week)
Budget £100
Spent so far this month:: £82.31 (we're gonna make it :j)
I so envy you the BullringI used to live near there 40 years ago and shopped round the markets Saturday morning, the fruit and veg stalls. the meat and fish marketandIcould notresist the RagSlimming World at target0 -
Morning!
Just reporting in with yesterdays spends of £42.04 for dog food. I found a great website that delivered with 48 hours and was SOOO cheap compared to the pet shop so I bought 5 months worth of dog food. I've decided to split this over 5 months so that works out at £8.40 per month so that is going on this months budget.
If anyone wants the website details, let me know and I'll PM you -don't think it will let me on here? They do all sorts, not just food and flea treatment etc is good value too!
Thanks
Claire
Can I have the website too please :] - if you can't post a link just post the name of the wesite

Morning all
Welll another small spend this morning, although it was subsidised with £20 from hubby for bits he needed. so £13 ish spent from my budget.
Am declaring at £183.66 :mad::mad: Which is £33.66 over budget.
Ok now i am a little annoyed, although i know we would have spent alot more than that in previous months, also i had an expensive start to this month. I now have a number of meals in the freezer for the next week or so.
I think for next month i will go to the SM each week rather than on ad hoc basis as i tend to spend more at those times.
Well done to those that are under budget, i will join you at some point this year. And thank you everyone for the recipes and tips.
FEB will be £150 again please.
Have a good weekend all.

Hi all,
Have done my adding up for the months ....and.....
I,M UNDER!!!!!!! !!:T:j:beer:
Declaring £339.76for January - SO chuffed.:D
Will set my food budget at £300 for Feb, as its a short month and will give me a bit more of a challenge.
The bad side is that I have spent £193.41 out of my household budget, this does include new curtains, huge mirror, a haircut, and loads of gifts in the sales for prezzies for family birthdays etc throughout the year, so I hope it will save me money over the year.
Hope your all well, and bring it on Feb Challengexx
Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Ok, so first we'll start with the OK bit.
Just back from shopping and managed to stick to essentials in Mr T so £15 there.
Then a quick trip into the Co*op as wanted to stock up on Persil £3.19 (1/2 price) whilst it's on offer. Also saw lots of orange stickers but resisted most apart from some chicken breasts which started off life at £7.50 (which I'd never pay - I'd rather buy a whole one, but they are handy if I can get them for a reasonable price) which were down to £2.80.:j Bought quite a few of them(there were loads so not sure what's happened this week!
Good news is that it's now chicken stuffed with soft cheese, wrapped in bacon (from freezer) for dinner - one of my favs!:)
Anyway, now well into Feb's allocation of the budget which brings me to my problem........ there's a good chance I may be made redundant in a couple of months:( (if I do survive it is an almost certainty it will happen within a few months).
This has, naturally, put me into panic mode - esp being single, there's no one else to fall back on.
Looking at it from a worst case point of view, I'm wondering if I should build stocks as much as poss just now - with the hope that if it does happen, I'll have food / household cleaning stuff / toiletries etc to tide me over a few months so I've only the mortgage/other bills to worry about ..... but it'll blow the budget altogether (but would hopefully be recouped later in the year as I won't need to buy stuff then and could life off the stocks I've built up)...... but again, I'd probably still want to hold reasonable stocks for the inevitable early next year.
So .... I'm thinking I should increase the annual budget this year to help with this but ...... mmmmm any thoughts would be most appreciated.:)Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

I was going to wait till OH got paid on Tuesday but I got my pay cheque today which will cover two week of the CG. So I have decided to go for it and start now.
I have absolutely no idea of a budget so I am going to start with £240 for February and see how it goes. this will not include meat this month as we buy from the local butcher and pay at the end of the month. this month will include the Christmas meat and has been about six week long:eek: so I dread to think how much it will be.
I am looking forward to doing this but also a bit  as I have tried many times before
Off to ald* this afternoon to use the voucher from the paper
