Pork Shoulder joint, I put mine in the slow cooker with either a half carton of apple juice or a tin of cider and leave it. It does go very soft so once its cooked I take it out of the liquid and let it cool. It then slices so much better otherwise as my dad says you can cut it with a spoon.
I put the liquid in a pan and simmer it to reduce it and make a gravy. I then use some for a meal and the rest I portion out into containers (like the ones you get from a take away) Then top with gravy and freeze.

There was a whole thread not long ago on here about slow roast pork it was around the Jamie oliver way of cooking it although this recipe has the bone still in, it may help?

i also slow cooker my pork shoulder, with honey and mustard tis yummy :)

i would cook half and dice the other half into 2 portions for casarole and frezzer them, (i buy them when te$co do the huge ones half price, i get 2 roast and 3/4 casaroles worth for about £10)

check out your local market for fruit and veg, or go to the supermarket late in the day, i'm obsessed with my kids getting enough fruit i have ibs and do put it down to a bad diet in my childhood, this week i've got 16 plus, 20 apples, 7 kiwi's, 9 oranges, 6 bananas and a punnet of blue berries for £2.54 by going to the market and to tesco late in the day (i was passing) also got 2kg of carrots for about 35p, punnet of muchrooms for 54p and a 50p brocolli.

i need to get up and dice the mushrooms and carrots to go in the freezer and make cheese and brocolli pasta sauce to freeze aswell

Oops. I've spent £35.24 and managed only 1 NSD this week, sending me soaring over budget for the month. :o

Several schoolgirl errors made, including not posting here every day, going into shops - even though no single spend was more than £10, it adds up - and caving [as cheaply as possible] to Him Indoors' pleas for 'cheering up stuff'.

Oh, and I stupidly allowed myself to get nervous because I could see the bottom of a freezer drawer - I panicked and did a little [honestly, unnecessary] stock-up to fill the gap.

Ah well. Little likely to be bought before the end of the calendar month, but I won't declare until then. And I intend to keep it under £120, come hell or high water... :)
Haven't done the GC since February, but a glance at the Tower of Receipts tells me I really need to get back into it... and plenty of other Challenges besides. :o
