Thanks for all the support you lovely lot xxx
Spent £3.20 on lunch at work today. It's a bit of a dilemma, because I know I could bring lunch in and do it cheaper, but it forces me to leave the office which is good because otherwise I just work straight through. Hmm what to do..Future hopes, dreams & emergencies fund: £4,000

Hello all
After a bit of a wobbly start (spent £60+ of Jan budget already!), I now have some time to sort the freezer and pantry properly and do some meal plans today. I was supposed to be going out for tea, but a friend has cancelled, so we're eating whatever we've got. DH and I off to the supermarket after tea, with a SHORT list as I know there's meat in the freezer, tons of pasta, tinned tomatoes, tea bags, toilet rolls...also taking hard cash so we don't spend too much!
Haven't read all the posts yet, but will catch up later, hope everyone's doing ok.

Brassic - I bring lunch but make myself go out and go for a walk before I eat it, otherwise, like you, I'd sit in all day. On Monday and again today I went to the library; yesterday I went and had a look at the market up Whitechapel; other times I'll walk down to the river or into the City. When the weather's nice I take a packed lunch outside and sit and read a book. Another idea is to make lunch out of stuff you've bought at the supermarket on the Monday but make sure the shop you go to is miles away :rotfl:Grocery challenge September 2022: £230.04/£200

Really should avoid the approvedfood site, just spent just under £40 including delivery (though £2 of that was bone pills for my Mum as hers are getting weak).
A few good bargains though...June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Sorry to hear about fellow poster's family bereavements - my heart goes out to anyone who needs it!
Another NSD here - found some frozen raw prawns to make a fried rice dish with. They have been in freezer for 4 months and it says they should be used within one month of freezing. Do most people ignore this or is it just me?January 2012 GC £296.96/£3000 -

I know what you mean! I always end up spending a fortune so now I fill the basket and leave it a few hours before deciding if I really need it or not - most of the time it's just junk food tbh which I buy in to last me but always manages to disappear within a couple of days somehow
Filled the basket yesterday but emptied it this morning when I went through it harshly lol :A0 -
MrsMoneyPenny and Brassic - hugs

I have spent £28.07 so far this week. I have a reasonable amount of food still in the freezer/cupboards. I hopefully shouldn't need too much this week, famous last words
