This sorting never ends. I'm now abandoning the mess to have a bath. OH has started to sort things out too, didn't even need to nag. Great stuff. In the process found several gifts that are still in their wrappers which are perfect for re-gifting. A clear-out and future money saving too. Mostly female gifts though, but my mother is sorted for birthdays and christmas for about the next 3 years.
Now where did that conveniently opened bottle of wine get to?

Sounds like a productive day

Another productive day in store.
Going to choose some seeds for the allotment-probably echinacea, white poppys, calendula and cornflower.
Total paid off CC this month will be £969.66 by the end of next week. Another payment of £10 sent today. Hope I'm costing them lots in administration by making a payment a day, a bit of payback I think
Tip trips and charity shop runs today. Will decide if I can be bothered to sell my old DVDs, Although the £9 I might get would pay for next christmas dvd purchases I guess. We'll see.

Just thought I'd check music magpie, to see if my stuff was worth anything. OK so it's not paying out that much, but £19 for 16 cds and dvds that I'm really not all that bothered about, doesn't seem so bad. Sorry charity shop, but that cash can go in my ISA that I'm going to open on 6 April. WoW an ISA, who'd have thought it?
Hmmm. Those 1 and 2ps that are sitting in a jar are not safe from my prying eyes either. Think I might need to count those up and bank them too *goes into the bathroom with a plotting expression on face*

Decided that I can't be !!!!!d to go through the whole musicmagpie thing, especially when you here things like them knocking 50p off for polishing etc etc. Thought about ebaying next. Then I thought about the amount of work I would be doing for 99p if I got that, and with 39 items to sell, that could be potentially 39 lunchtimes queuing, which could be spent profitably healing the soul, finding the new me and so on. So I popped them straight back in a carrier bag and loaded them into the car. This might seem wasteful, but I don't need to punish myself further for getting into this mess, I've done enough of that.
No ebay is strictly going to be for items of value. Also the relief felt at decluttering the house is more than worth it. Lessons learned today, and will be thinking very carefully before making impulse purchases. There will be a wardrobe plan. I have tonnes of shoes and the only ones I seem to live in are my favourite shiny purple hunter wellies, my Ugg boots and trainers (oh and occasionally something smart for work when there is a meeting, but you can bet they get taken off under the desk if I can get away with it).
I need to stop living in the past and start embracing the me who is here at this moment in time. I was surprised to find that OH has found the clearing out quite emotional too. I think we are facing the fact that we are grownups now, whether we like it or not. We want to build a home together and that means accepting new things and moving on to new futures and making new memories. Didn't stop me needing to pour myself a beer and taking a few deep breaths mind.
And the wind has returned, I hope it quietens down for this evening. And so to counting those 1 and 2ps.
xx

Windy and rainy here today. Any windier and we might end up in OZ. Although I wouldn't complain if I thought it might get me another pair of sparkly shoes
Just having a little slob before going to make some Ciabatta bread for lunch. Yesterday was a spendy day as in between dropping the charity shop bits, I had to drive by a certain supermarket, and I was hungry and then I got to thinking about how nice it would be to have pork and leek sausages. Mmmm

The weather is awful here too  Luckily I'm not heading out in it :rotfl:0 -
A very busy day of sorting out again, which is good because it made us rearrange the lounge, which kind of makes it feel like we have had a move. Getting rid of one old hi fi and the coffee table will be going within the next few weeks. Giving us a lovely slightly larger lounge.
Boo to mildew, which is what I think it is. Went to sort through my clothes and some that have been in the draw a while had white spotting on them, and then holes. Grr, it has so far taken a silky top, and a very fabulous Maxmara skirt. Fortunately I only paid around £8 for this on ebay and not the hundreds it would have cost. But still Grr.Which makes me think.... As fabulous as these designer garments look, they are an awful lot of hard work to look after, need to be stored away properly, and if the moths didn't get it, well I guess the mould/mildew did.
I suspect the culprit is a vintage dior dress that I had in there, although this has not been affected, it does have that old smell, and I guess the fact that the bottom of the drawer is a plastic affair perhaps didn't help. Hmmm. A ruddy nightmare this is.Sometimes nature is a pain in the bum.
Just had a little search and I guess now that I need to wash whichever clothes can be washed, and take the drawers out and let them see the sunshine. That'll be tomorrows task then. This holiday is turning into such a not holiday. Bummer! Still at least all these jobs we have been putting off, will finally be done.

Ok so today is to get mad evil on the moths and/mould. Will be washing everything.
Also a free ebay listing weekend so woop, woop to that.
Had advice that the mould thing is probably because we need to open the windows and let fresh air through. This is the draughtiest house I have ever lived in, but I'll give it a try anyway.
So today will be spent doing more sorting. Much photo taking of items, and planning what clothes I need in 2012. Definitely need some t-shirts as I now do not have a single one to my name, after getting rid of the too small, the hole-y and the faded yesterday. Will also sort out some lavender oil and some storage jackets for my better clothing.
Sorted out which seeds to order for the allotment and for my own personal little patch on there I'm having echinacea, poppys, mixed cornflowers and calendula. It's so nice that I can actually do this, this year, as last year I couldn't even justify buying any seeds. It will be good for the soul.
Enjoying the new set up of the living room, just got to figure out how to get the coffee table into the car as this one isn't a hatch back.Could be interesting driving along with two coffee table legs either side of my head.
And in further developments, following the sad news that OH grandmother passed away, there is at least one positive thing to come out of this. He will be left with 5k which will mean that with my contribution by the summer he will owe 3k which will be paid off by the end of the year. This also means that at the start of 2013 we can open a joint savings account and start saving for our house, and we could even be buying somewhere by the end of that year (hoping to have 20k saved).
It seems that finally we are starting to be given some breathing room. Just both need to find better paying jobs this year too.
Right, better get on then!
