It makes it on Min and one and two when nothing in it...(just the motor going)....3 and above and it's fine...

Won't blow up on me or anything will it?

Or should I put it to the restore site in Bridgewater for a new motor/full service?

Some playing and I think she's just sensitive though a service won't do any harm...Alas there's no Kenwood agents where I live so going to phone repaircare when they open as they have local agents and enquire about the prob...It seems she just needs time to warm up (judging by putting her on min and without the basin and attachments)....and slow changing of speeds...

    Thanks guys

PS. Last test and 1 and above and she was fine...so hence just think she needs a service :money

I have a lovely red Artisan mixer , looks great on the worktop ...............however I dont think it does a good job , my old Kenwood made far better cakes

  • I have had 3 kenwood chef`s in forty years, the first two broke down after long periods and heavy use with lots of bread making but they were all good. I had several of the attachments and I used them. They were ugly beasts and I quickly made pretty covers for them and I had the liquidiser for the top, however the liquidisers all started to leak after a while

The kmix stand mixer suits me now, almond is the same colour as my kitchen cupboards and it is an attractive machine. It works differently to the chef in that it has a soft start, which stops ingredients flying around and it has an electronically controlled motor, which adjusts to what is being mixed. I made a madeira cake this morning and I used the folding feature which is absolutely brilliant and not at all like a pulse, it really is a gentle fold. I am very happy with my choice and would make it again and it is a perfect compliment to my kmix hand mixer. Re the liquidiser, I gave mine to dd with the chef and I recently bought a waring machine. At my age I cannot see me buying another so I bought the best I could

    Bought more attachments :(

Have the liquidiser and high speed shredder/slicer. Waiting on the juicer coming (got one but it was pants - really old - as in fossilised)....Liquidiser a bit expensive. Shredder/slicer less so....

Also checked it the other night and noticed I need to replace the rubber feet...so will do when have the monies. I can get them off ebay cheap enough :D...May explain it's noise?

    OK I'm inspired.

I do have a Kenwood which I've never ever used :o. It does have a cool cover though :p

My trusty food processor has gone funny on me and won't turn off- as soon as the power is connected the blade whizzes round - seriously lethal.

I was going to replace it but if I use the money to buy the attachements instead can the Kenwood replace a FP which is mostly used for chopping?

Och yeah. I got a slicer thingy for the kenwood off ebay last week for about £20....4 slicing/grating disks. It was an old one A929 but should work on a newer model. Worth a try...

Also got the 'old' juicer and that's fine (A935) for about the same price. Just a question of getting a cheap container for the juice, chopping the carrots and like using the K Bowl for the pulp. Far less mess than a proper juicer...

    Worth looking on ebay deffo!!!

best Kenwood chef meringue recipe eva!!!:D (adapted)

egg whites (1 per oz of icing sugar)
Icing sugar (1oz per 1 egg white)

    Method

Put egg whites and icing sugar in K bowl. attach whisk attachment. Beat on slow speed gradually increasing to 5 or 6 till reasonable peaks form.....

Spoon on to baking trays lined with silicone liners (£shop) using two spoons (you don't need a piping bag) Put in oven at 120c for approx 1-1.5 hours till dried out.
