Technically speaking (wattage etc) the ken wood is better. But it's sooooooooo ugly!

Oi, my one isn't ugly! :D

And I only cover it up with sheepy to stop it getting dirty. :p
  • in the old days I used just a wooden spoon and a grater and a sharp knife. I am talking the 50s, when I did a lot of family cooking ie for 9 (age 9+) . No wonder I was slim and tbh that was really the os way. It took no space and cost no money and we didn`t eat as many cakes either, so we were healthier. I am definitely a gadget person now and think nothing of whipping up a cake or making pastry but if I am honest, it hasn`t done me any good at all. I would probably be 2 stone lighter if it wasn`t so easy to make nice carb-rich food
  • I would NOT go for a model for trendiness but for functionality combined with stylish good looks. From the looks of things the Kitchen Aid ticks all the boxes as does the Magimix ( I am a previous Magimix owner and would highly recommend them). Both Magimix and Kitchen aid seem to share well engineered technology characteristics plus the unredoubtable merits of Professional Chefs recommendations as the Standard Equipment.
Perhaps then the question ought to be what Food Processors are best as secondary but well performing models to the above? MSE stylie as well ( which of course does not rule out investment in these top of the range functional models) for serious Chefs which is very OS as well as MSE.

  • Or anyone on thread fancied donating their Kitchen Aid to moi be my guest. I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't be delighted at having them and wanting to get rid of them as they are a real prestige item.
    I pay postage.

oh heck I am weakening fast :) I made sourdough bread in the processor last week and it was like a brick whereas it is always chewy when mixed by hand but it is a chore. I made a great load of sauerkraut last week with finely sliced cabbage and it was so easy with my supersharp mandolin and is neater than with the processor.

The upshot is that I have barely used my singing dancing cuisinart processor in the last two months and I used to use my chef every day. Ok I made pastry dough in minutes today but that is no reason not to give it to my other dd :) who I am positive will love it

    I would use a kitchenaid a lot, I am sure I would

What colour will you get? ;)
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

I haven`t weakened that much yet. I`m still looking. The kmix looks just as nice
  • I'm after a Kenwood Kmix. Anyone know of any decent offers?

Bought mine just after Christmas from Electricshopping.com for 272 plus 8 quid back via quidco. Best deal I found, everywhere else was at least 310.

I do love it and it makes great bread!
