Afternoon all, i see all these bargains being posted about items in supermarkets and say i will pop there also. i then remember this challenge so i dont go. however a small spend in one of them may be in order as i really need some washing machine liquid, the one we like is on offer, so i'm afraid a very small spend may be in order. However because of this challenge i havnt entered a supermarket this week.

I have thought more since last posting and i will not be going to asda for laundry liquid, i have enough to last a couple on months anyway & i could always buy whatever aldi sell, or better still the co op might have an offer. I feel better now.

Well done on not caving in :T Aldi washing stuff gets very good write-ups - might be worth trying. Latest leaflet has Almat Non Bio Liquid Wash at £2-39 = 8.5p per wash and says Good HK approved.

Going well here, stocked up at Lidl this morning on vegetables etc. Cabbage, carrots, 5kg onions to make home made coleslaw.

I got 1.6k of cheddar as well for £4.48 :) Weekend deal. We go through a lot of cheese.

Also picked up some gammon steaks. I'm going to try that farm shop later today for meat.

Well done on your saving Lizzie :)

Thank you for this, have just been to Lidl and stocked up on cheese as well - apparently it will last until August :rotfl: not in this house!

I've just made a load of cheese coleslaw, 12 cheese buns and now on to making garlic & cheese doughballs for tea so it won't last long :p

I'm glad you got some :)

Well done on not caving abitofhelp :T :j

Thanks, quite impressed with myself really. I have tried the aldi stuff and it while it does clean the clothes, it never seems to leave a nice smell. I didnt want our dryer replacing when it broke down last year, so if it is damp and raining outside i use an airer inside. If i use the aldi wash i need to take them out of the machine as soon as it has finished. Need to plan my washes better i think.

Wow, the garlic & cheese doughballs sound amazing!! Do you have a recipe please??

I have only seen this thread today but seeing as I am usually in Mr T's every other day spending anything from £7-£40 (& that's usually just for a "couple of bits") I will try to read more & then join.

Well done everyone on staying cleer & being more careful with money- definitely what I'm aiming for!!

I want to wear my beautiful wedding dress everyday- it would make shopping so much more fun, I mean, people go shopping in their pyjamas these days.......
    Must STOP spending!!! :)
Proud to be dealing with my debts!

No problem but warning, they are moreish :)

    500g bread flour (55p for 1.5k)
    1 teaspoon of salt (0.2p)
    1 tablespoon sugar (0.3p)
300ml warm water (Pay water rates any way :) )
    1/2 a sachet of dried yeast (3.5g) (6p)
2 tablespoon of oil (0.2p) I buy the 2l from Lidl
(All ingredients bought at Aldi except yeast, MRs, been in store cupboard for months when on for 75p, now 99p )

I put this all in the BM on the dough function, then when finished I split into 16.
Add a mix of hm garlic butter (Cheap marg mixed with a tea spoon of parley & 2 fresh garlic cloves minced) & a nip of grated cheese in to the middle of each ball.
Place on a greased baking sheet & prove for 30minutes.
Top with grated cheese before baking.
Bake at 190 degrees for 20 minutes.

Very yummy & freeze well also.

I could eat them again after typing that up :rotfl:

yum they sound nice, i will have to make them at some time, small spend in aldi yesterday, it included some frozen fruit. Its great to know i can buy it there as eldest son likes a handfull of berries in his porridge smoothie type drink i made, and they were cheaper than tesco/asda. Bonus
