This challenge sounds fun. I've got an online order coming from Mr T on Wednesday afternoon but apart from that I won't go near one of the big four supermarkets during May.
I won't be doing an online order either.
Please count me in.0 -
Please can I join in too? It won't be too hard for me as the nearest big 4's are all at least 5 miles away and I hate going to them anyway - I'd much rather (and usually do) shop at the local market/farm shops/butchers/greengrocers/local Co-op/L!DLs in the next town. But I could do with an achievable challenge right now - too much going on elsewhere in my life to do something really hard!Angie - GC Sept 25: £226.44/£450: 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 28/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0

Well first day went well.
All I have bought is a bottle of wine, potatoes, green beans & SR flour. All from Aldi.
I'll need meat by Friday & I always buy our meat at Sainsburys so I will have to venture to a farm shop or butcher instead.Life is short, smile while you still have teeth0 -

I will be away on the norfolk broads for a week now (still on the challenge though) so won't be able to access a computer until my return!
Good luck all!

Jan grocery challenge £35.77/£1200 -
Hope you have a lovely holiday catznine and thanks for restarting this challenge. Although I didn't need to shop for much today it was a joy to potter about going to real shops instead of soulless out of town sheds full of stuff I don't need.
Nicolafine - re the Co-op being expensive, have a look at the Fiscal Fast thread posts 704 and 712 - I thought the same as you."Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0 -
The Co-op can do some good deals but I tend to think they are for things we don't really need. Like chocolate. Did I say I didn't need chocolate just thenI have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

Please can I join in.
I've already made a small start on this and have been trying to support local shops for some time now. Definitely want to stay away from the Big 4.0 -
Hi, could I join please? I actually decided to start doing this last friday and went to the local butcher and farm shop, I don't like shopping in big supermarkets as they are full of nice treats that I am not supposed to be filling my trolley with, and too much processed stuff everywhere that I am likely to buy.:DMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

I managed quite easily to walk past tesco without going inside yesterday, went to the £ shop with oh instead. the only struggle i think i will have is value yogurts for eldest sons breakfast smoothie and some new fangled sandwhich thins he likes for his lunch. other than that i will be picking up some bits from aldi/farm shop for the next couple of weeks.Grocery Challenge 24th Feb-28 Dec 2012 £2000/£1404

Hi all,
So lovely to see everyone joining in, makes the journey more fun. Thanks Catznine for gathering us all together and hope you have a lovely holiday.
Well we have started okay, I took a break from work yesterday, i'm bad for working right through without a break but decided to have one and walked to the local co-op to buy some milk and cheese. Though some things were a bit dearer I managed to get some meatballs half price for tea as well as some reduced peppers and tomatoes so it didn't feel too bad.
Today I had to go into Edinburgh and passed Sainsbobs but resisted the temptation (oh how virtuous I felt:rotfl:).
So onwards and upward, after reading GQ's post I also joined the co-op so just waiting for my card now, and I will feel like my granny with her Divi number.
Hope everyone is well and had a great day
