Oh no Catznine, I hope you are on the mend asap x
I found a supplier today for milk from a local farm. The price was not to bad either at £1.35 per 2l.Rock farm in Durham, the great thing is that this is a struggling business so it feels good to be buying it.
Still haven't found local allotments yet to try & source eggs. If any-one knows of any close to Durham city centre it would be much appreciated. I'd prefer to buy from there than the farm shop.
The main problem I am finding is that I am running out of bread bags, I mean carriers:rotfl:
I will have to do a small shop at Lidl for Lasagne sheets, and cashew nuts.Life is short, smile while you still have teeth0 -
Hi all
Finding this quite a challenge, when i finish work all the local shops are closed so ive been relying on a localish (next village) co-op but its been interesting tryng to find certain things:p.
I think I need to be better organised and try a monthly visit to the butcher and fishmonger to see if that helps.
Though i am trying this for a month I would really like to change how we shop longer term so i don't feel two faced, ranting:mad: about supermarket practices and then finding myself in one:o.
Well done everyone as every small step will help.

A no spend day for me today. I had the day off & had planned to spend it cooking & baking but that didn't happen as the school rang me to pick up DD2.Life is short, smile while you still have teeth0

No spend day for me today, so I managed to bake some bread, 2 apple braids and some dough balls (thanks for the recipe pink princess) plus cakes and biscuits and have put some in the freezer, there is enough to last until next weekend. I am low on eggs now though, so I will pick up some eggs from my local GG along with the weekly veg on Saturday .Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Another no spend day today but I'm now desperate for eggs & out of Lamb & Beef so I'll have to go to the farm shop tomorrow.
I also need shampoo so need to source that or nip to Lidl.Life is short, smile while you still have teeth0 -
Still no supermarkets here - in fact not much shopping at all. All I spent on today was the cat's booster
Saturday will be at a car boot sale - have never paid attention to any food on offer there but will do so this time and there's a farm shop about a mile from there so will get cheese and try not to be tempted by their own beef."Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0 -
Went to the farm shop today, I bought chicken, eggs & cheeses but left the lamb & beef as they were £17 a kilo
No other spends except £5 for a bottle of wine at the local shopLife is short, smile while you still have teeth0
