Did weekly shop today - grand total of £5-03 :T Had to drive to the shops but that's because I'm in a village with few shopping choices - the shopping area I go to is not that far away. Wanted some smoked paprika but no luck - not sure what I'm going to do about that.

I did go to Asda  It is on the way to the shops and I just recycled my glass. It's my least favourite supermarket so no temptation at all to go in :rotfl:

Just wine & milk bought today locally.

I will need fruit tomorrow, I'm down to 1 banana & a few sorry apples.

Well done on staying out of Asda lizzy :)

On Friday I went to our local farm shop (which is organic but is cheaper than the other farm shops round here) and stocked up on meat then went back the next day with OH and spent even more :D

Got lots of mince for batch cooking and sausages as well as chicken and ham so the freezer is well stocked.

Went to the asian supermarket near work today - they do bags of fruit and veg for £1 each so got huge bag of carrots, 3 big courgettes, 5 red peppers, big bag of grapes (which are lovely, might have to buy more!) for £1 each. Also got mushrooms, lettuce, spring onions and replenished my herb store, all for £12 so really happy - apart from having to carry it back to work :rotfl:

I looked for smoked paprika for ages in the supermarkets and couldn't find any, then randomly found it in my local Londis in the end.

    Thanks PP!

This challenge has really made me realise how few independent shops there are locally - I am between a few small high streets and none of them have a butcher or a green grocer.

I have to traval further to the farm shop than a supermarket but it is worth the effort as the meat is excellent.

I would like to think I will carry this on after the challenge finishes but it is definitely more effort.

I think my OH is coming round to the "better quality meat less often" idea - he is definitely sold on using the far shop but we're working on the less often part!

Still haven't been in the top 4 but I did go to Aldi today for salad things.

I have also hit a big snag, I am out of vanilla and have no clue where to buy it without going to the top 4. HELP!

I bought a pack of 3 - vanilla, lemon, almond essences in Aldi last week - I think 1.99 for the pack of 3. Dr Oetker.

Lakeland plastics stock it if that helps, i wanted the brownie tin offer that asda is offering with Lurpak at the moment. My mother brought the one she bought round as she buys lurpak anyway, so that saved me from asda.Small shop at aldi planned for this weekend then maybe farmshop on sunday.
