  • Well, this year I managed to get a good job which led to me getting my dream job which involved me moving out of the parental home and relocating to the other side of the country. I also managed to lose a few stone in weight and I got to go abroad on holiday for the first time in years.

Next year I want to settle into my new job, make a pile of new friends in my new city and lose a couple more stone in weight. If another holiday could materialise at some point that would be rather good too. I'm 30 next year so I'm hoping it will be a good one; hoping to make my 30s better than my 20s :)
Debt: Started at £4780, now at £4190 :)
Comp Wins 2014: None yet :(
  • I'd really like a gap year.

In my fifties, always worked and just once in my life would like some time to myself to plan a future that doesn't include pleasing bosses, family, friends and everyone else!

Its not practical of course. I can but dream.

    One day....

I think only two things on my list can be acheived this year but better than nothing. Change Drs surgery and get a better rate for my ISA are the ones that can be done.

Other than that, I want to get my health problems diagnosed, thus treated, thus can get a little or a lot of my life back. Been waiting 5 years for a proper diagnosis so I won't hold my breath- been back at the Hospital over 2 years now and feel no further along, especially as I am now being refused tests.

I had to drop alot of my volunteer work due to health so i'd like to take up more of that again but need the above to do so.

I would love a holiday, but no money and no health to go away!

I would also like to continue with my weight loss.

Just thought i'd chick my two penneth in.

After the horrendous year I have had this year I have decided that this coming year I am going to be selfish and do things that I want to do, not things that work want me to do, such as completing my MA. I do only have my dissertation to do, but my heart is not in it, so I am going to but that on the back burner until I am ready. If I was going to get a payrise or promotion, or both for doing it I would be scribbling away, but I have no incentive - apart from getting it done.

Soooooo, today I have decided to learn something for me and have enrolled on a 10 week introduction to Reflexology at night school, I am really excited by it, especially as I know I can start a Diploma in it in June at night school if I wanted to. It's so far removed from my career, but it is something I have been interested in - so why not :)

Other things I want to do is maintain my swimming, going tomorrow which im looking forward to, and in general just doing things for me and what I want to do. Not putting others first putting me first!

Then in the summer my nephew is going to Australia for an extended period of time, I am considering going out for a trip, only thinking at the mo, he might not want his auntie cramping his style - lol.

Im sure I can think of other things I want to do, but this is it for now.

    TS x
:D Be brave. Even if you're not, pretend to be. No one can tell the difference. :D

Well I have already achieved one item on my list :D

Had contacted my bank and threatened to leave with both my ISA and current account, and they have offered me a goodwill gesture of another 1% interest for 12 months (bringing me up to 1.20%) or switch in the new tax year to the alternative ISA account which pays 1.75%.

I've gone for the first option and then in tax year April 2013 I will switch over to the new product, or whatever they have at that time. As with everything else going on, accepting the first offer means I have a year before I need to do anything else.

Snap with Ishtar - going to lose the 9lbs that have crept on! I'm going to combine this with another goal - to complete a couch to 5K running program :)

    Good luck...!!

    Great stuff.
Hi there! We’ve had to remove your signature. It was so good we removed it because we cannot think of one so good as you had and need to protect others from seeing such a great signature.

I really want to decorate my flat in 2012; we've been living here for nearly 3 years and it isn't finished, there are still marks on the walls from moving in day! It's about time it looked like a grown-ups home rather than the temporary thrown together look with the standard new-build-(now grubby) magnolia walls that's currently going on!

I also want to become more organised... but I've been wanting (and failing) to be more organised my entire life so that's unlikely to happen! :o
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

  • I will probably, unfortunately have a very big personal change happening in my life in 2012. I aim to cope with it in the best way possible, realise that although it will be very sad it will also be for the best as I have been unhappy for a long time. It will mean a lot of changes, but I will come out of the other side of it a happier person.
