Li0nhead - good luck with the plans - all exciting stuff.
lallysmum - you deserve such a good year & I do hope that things pan out really well for you & ds - you could always ebay stuff - great way to declutter & get some funds on board too.
I aim to get out of the caravan we've been living in for over three years & get the house build finished - or to the point that we can get a bath & not be rocked about in the gales. Can't really cut down as we love our food & do eat good grub, but we shouldn't probably gad about as much as we do wasting fuel.
Good luck to all with plans for 2012.0 -
I am going to start decluttering my home and my life. I am tired of carrying around baggage, physically and metaphorically.
I will no longer bite my tongue in order to keep the peace. My family have a tendency to verbally bully me and I fall into the trap of trying to justify myself to them. Not anymore. I'll tackle the behavour not in an agressive way but in an assertive way. I wouldn't want a friend in my life who behaved like that with me, so I shall no longer put up with it from my family.
I will continue to do everything I can to help people, but on MY terms. I will stop re-arranging my schedule to fit round theirs. I'll do it, but in a way and a time that suits me.
I have far too much "stuff" in my house that I neither need nor really want any longer. I have been ruthless in getting rid of the larger items like furniture I no longer need, but now I'll start with all the small stuff. Less things to dust or wash and iron!
They're all positive things to do and I'll do them in a positive way.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break

Im a recovering gambling addict, and my aim is to make 2012 completely gamble free, also lose about 3 st over the year, and mend my broken heart. How did I let it get such a mess? :eek:0

We've got a huge changes coming next year, stemming from 2 big changes to our lives this year. OH left his job at the company he'd been at for 32 years and I was made redundant 5 months ago. We also paid off our mortgage - yay, that's a wonderful feeling

OH secured a new job in September, which means us moving to China for 3 years initially. Sadly, our dd's x 3 aren't moving with us but they are all adults and will remain in our home. We did a trial run in China for 4 weeks and they managed brilliantly with their shopping etc and it helps that 2 of them have lived away from home for 3 & 2 years respectively.
We fly out early Jan and will take ourselves to the apartment we found during our 4 week trip taken earlier this month.
We both like it there, OH loves his new job and living overseas is something he's wanted to do for years. It's a fab challenge for us and one will intend making the most of, both financially and socially. We also intend to travel as much as we can but plan to return to the UK every 3 to 4 months - at least I will (already have flights booked for mid April for 3 weeks here).
So, huge changes coming but one we are both looking forward to, although we wish our dd's were coming too but we understand their reasons for preferring to stay here. We both appreciate how fortunate we are to have this wonderful opportunity to enjoy time together as a couple and to experience a new culture

I have spent the last few years 'working towards things' so now have finished another period of study, sold my house, have bought my dream house and move in next month.
2012 for me is going to be the year I rediscover my social life, lose a bit of weight, cut down on the amount of clothes I buy and work towards saving for a holiday or something useful that isn't chocolate lolIf you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -
My changes are small in comparison to everyone else's, nevertheless they are important to me. I have decided not to come on mse as often as I do.
I have had a couple of 'relationships' with men on this site, one turned out to be an ex poster who was banned,(he denies it but I know it is him and is playing mind games with me).The other one already has a gilfriend and thinks he can have us both. Well I am now sick of it and am going to do what I want for a change, men have always walked all over me and it's time I said enough is enough........And breath.:)0 -
I am currently living abroad, so my aims for this year are
1) to come back home, I want to be closer to my family.
2) find a job that relates to what I study, even if it means a stupidly low salary, I want to start a career and ill work my way up.
3) Grow up a bit, I have had a fabulous time, studying, living and working abroad, but this year I will be 27 and I want to start building a future.
4) Just loose a few extra pounds, maybe take up some regular exercise.
5) This one is more ambitious and not really in my control, but I would love to meet a nice guy who I could eventually settle down with.
Good luck to everyone who is trying to make a change. 2012 is our year

Good luck everyone. Hope all your plans come to fruition. Change can be scary but a good friend of mine said action is the best antidote to the fear of change. I need to make several career and personal decisions too because just like the OP I have re-evaluated my life because it often feels as if a year has passed and I'm in exactly the same situation as last year.
But the only way change comes about is through making changes so i better get cracking.0 -

That's the thought that scares me each and every year, except this one. I recently ended a 6 year relationship and moved out. So 2012 is my new start.
I hope to move out of this temporary flatshare into my own bought place.
Spend more time with my family, I have a niece due in a couple of months and would love to be around for my sister.
Save to visit Brazil-based brother for Christmas 2012.
Enjoy being single and dating for a while.
Good luck everyone!0
