Catching up with DOI now and I find its one of those programmes that I really need to watch - with both eyes instead of just one now and again :D

I totally forgot about DOI yesterday - I ended up just watching the results show and I'll watch the main show tonight

Speaking of which - can anyone tell me what ribbon floss is? NO It isn't for your teeth! LOL

Basically my friend gave me 32 reels of it and I thought, as it was on reels, that it was machine embroidery thread but it isn't.

Think it might well be the first thing to go into the fund!!

Never heard of it so my inquisitive mind made google it :D Found this explanation http://www.pintangle.com/journal/2009/1/18/what-is-ribbon-floss.html
Must admit, I think it looks like nice 'thread' to stitch with.

Well I had great plans for the weekend and today for sorting out the boxroom, but they didn't come to anything.

I love the updates on the tiger and the windmill.

As for the engagement ring - why on earth would he want both?
Tell him in no uncertain terms where to go!!

Just noticed the 365/6 savings thread. What a good idea. Think I might have to sell off some craft stuff each month to raise mine.

did *louise* or someone need white ribbon floss for her tigers last year and we couldn't find any at a sensible price (or somethnig?)
    ETA: It was AILSB
I do have a question, the kit uses Opal Ribbon, it's Dimensions kit. I've googled it and can't find what it is or where to buy some. Do you think Kreinik opal ribbon might do it? Alternatively should I just use white floss but 6 strands?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Will try to back read and cathc up on everyone's news, hope you are all well (sorry to hear about the vertigo EJS).
don't know if it's same stuff?

OK Thanks for the link, but can't say I fancy it - looking more and more like an earner for the 365/6 challenge to me.
  • Wow Shelly your tigers are amazing and coming on so quickly!

Ellip your ex is really lettig himself down even more - !!!!!!

I am so impressed with my first order from Across Town - I ordered late on Wed and it arrived this morning - so often not the case when coming to N.I.
There was one mix up of threads where by I got 2 I didn't order so I am getting to keep these and she is replacing them with the correct ones:j
Now I am just waiting for my lap frame and I should be speeding up a little.

This is how far I have got with share a little happiness I was quite a bit further on - then realised it was ALL in the wrong place and had to rip it all out - grrrrrrrr - how does this take longer and break your heart a little each stitch hahahaha - but ready to start now. Once I get my frame positioning mistakes should be easier to see earlier.
  • OHHH I love it!!!

Ellip: Stupid ba5tard!! Keep the ring I sure would. Sell it to pay off your debts or sell it and put into a wedding saving fund. Either way sell it - get him out of your life - then he CAN'T have it back...... tell him you've lost it/ it fell down a drain/ got stolen by magpies if you prefer.

Sound like the stupid reason my hubby would write on the divorce papers :D
He came in Saturday night - i put the kids to bed - then as I was getting tea out the oven. he said "oh that looks nice is it ready?" to which i replied "yup but it's shepherds pie so you won't it eat" -dished it up and sat down ........ his face was brilliant as he's used to being handed his tea on a plate (so to speak).

    Isn't that the dicionary definition?
Husband (pronounce: ar5e): a human of the male sex who thinks the world revolves around them and couldn't give a monkeys what anyone else needs, thinks or wants?

Well I was looking forward to a nice stitchy couple of hours after dropping toddlerwiggle off at school. Tinywiggle had me up all night again (i gave in and slept in his bed anyway at midnight) but noooo - little sod is running riot in his walker, grabbing anything and everything he can.

Ha ha so true, should have checked the dictionary

I can't believe the cheek of your ex elliep :( You're definitely doing the right thing by keeping hold of it.

b_e_g - looks lovely, the flowers are so nice and bright.

    shelly- great progress.

newcook - I love the Pooh, I definitely think a Pooh design is next on my list.

    pm2326 - more good progress!

stitching roo while watching 127 hours....

    very glad I have a distraction :o
I was stitching whilst I watched it too. Hubby wished he had a reason to look away from the screen, I actually enjoyed watching his reaction more than the film, as he went clammy and pale when the bloke started cutting his arm off!!

I have made so little progress that I haven't posted an update, but I will take a pic tonight and post tomorrow.

Shelly & catwoman 150 - both tigers are looking good. We seem to have a thing for tigers on here lately.

b_e_g - still loving the windmill.

elliep - I agree with everyone else's comments regarding your engagement ring. It's yours you were given it and unless you agreed at the time that you would give it back if things went wrong then don't even consider it. I would sell it and use the money to do something nice - the sensibe part of me says use the money to pay the debts off that he left you with.

debtdalek - I was after ribbon floss to finish my tiger. If you have any white that you want to get rid of (happy to recompense) please pm me.

chicky - thanks for remembering that it was me that was after the ribbon floss. You such a good memory.
