Query - my mum is finishing a tablecloth started by her mum - and has run out of anchor thread 784 - which is discontinued (I think) does anyone know how to get one of the same colour.
Plus I have lost the pattern to the following kit and am desperate to finish it Bucilla Renaissance Rose Quilt 41564 (or the matching pillow sham 41565) if anyone has seen them around - even tried Bucilla and regualrly look on ebay but am losing hope.

Newcook - Pooh looks great. I've stitched a few in the past but the last one I tried to do I got bored of the colour so never finished it. So although some may say they are too easy I think they actually test your patience.

PP - Your job sounds good. what a plus to be such a short walk from home.

Have got my fabric ready tonight to start stitching tomorrow. Marked both my pattern and fabric out and put my fabric on the frame. Going to stitch An Emrboiderer's Prayers. will try to find a picture of it and change my avatar. Will also try to post on here.

    Off to bed now.

Wow, everyone's projects are coming on so well. I've done that Pooh bear one, a long time ago. It's a good design for getting back into stitching but I'm not sure I could do it now with it's big patches of one colour, I'd get bored! Though it's nice to not have to check the chart so much.

I've had a terrible weekend. My ex husband who left 16 months ago has just asked for the engagement ring back. He's also told me (again) that it's all my fault that he left. Despite the fact that when he filled in the divorce form the best reasons he could think of included the fact that I encouraged him to eat vegetables! I would just send it and not bother with the argument but the ring is worth £700 and he still has more than that value in his wedding ring that was paid for by my parents. He left me with £3000 debt which I didn't help to create and overall I don't feel very inclined to send the ring back. He left, I had every intention of honouring the promise that the engagement ring represents. Grr, I hate the fact that he still has so much power over me and can change my mood instantly after all this time.

I think I'm going to do some croochet (no chart checking, less chance of going wrong in a bad temper) and watch yesterdays 'call the midwife'.

    .

Sorry to hear that :(:( (((hugs)))

He sounds like one of those people who think that everything is everyone else's fault and the whole world is againt him.

Is he going to give you the wedding ring back? If not I would hold on to your ring, don't even feel bad about it. In fact, to heck with it, get the wedding ring back first then tell him you're selling both of them to pay off his debt.;)

Did he SERIOUSLY put that on the divorce papers?? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard!!

Yes he seriously did write that on the divorce papers. I think he phrased it that I 'attempted to significantly influence his diet' but that is what he was referring to! I did offer to swap the rings but apparently he was planning to mount my engagement ring inside his wedding ring so they spin on each other and wear them on some sort of necklace. Quite why he wants to do that is a mystery to me, and the pendant would then be worth over £1,500. Personally I know I couldn't wear something like that without worrying about it! As far as I'm concerned, my wedding and engagement rings are my savings towards my next wedding (no plans yet, but hopefully one day) and I'm not sending him the ring now. He's an idiot for expecting it.

Sorry for the off topic discussion, I'm just really annoyed at him and need to let off some steam. Thank you for letting me.

I believe an engagement ring counts as a gift so he can't ask for it back in any case :o
