  • thanks for the link subtle

so i have been sitting on £100 for weeks now, its my treat money from when i got my ppi refund, treated everyone else and put this to one side for me. withdrew £20 and brought myself a new hand bag and a magazine (oh go me!)

any how i dont know what to spend the other £80 on im terrible at spending money on myself and always feel guilt when i do, so im tempted to just spend it on cross stitch stuff to get the guilty feeling over with and before it gets spent on house stuff (boring)

but i dont know what i want!!! do i ebay it or do a big order at sew and so? decisions decisions

  • me again ladies

in the magazine i brought today it has a lovley pattern that i would like to use to make a set of placemats, looking online the aida material designed for placemats is going to turn out expensive.

the pattern isnt shown as a placemat but it says to use linen, now if i use linen or even weave is it going to fray?? so would you use aida? and how would i stop it looking tatty round the edges as it tends to if you frey the edges and then wash? would i need to sew all the way round the edge?

    so my questions

    aida, evenweave or linen?
and how would i stop the freying round the edges?
or does anyone know any cheep place mats to buy ? i would need 6

    thanks hope someone can help

Caroline - you've done really well with this afghan. I've never stitched one, don't really know what they are used for. Anyway, your's looks lovely.

I've lost my stitchy bug, keep looking at it and can't be bothered to pick it up. Keep thinking of all I need to do for Christmas presents both cross stitch and sewing and getting nothing done. Need to pull my finger out.

should be working on my flylady list while DS2 naps but .......... I really can't be bothered. got a very scratchy throat. was gonna sort out the christmas pressie box but DS1 has decided he has to be in the same room as me 'strimming' paper on the gullitine. grrrrrrrrrrr.

Yeah I've felt that way myself lately - I started a small Xmas pic a week ago which shuould have taken 3 nights and I still can't find the mojo to finish it :o And I have been so tired this week as well, which hasn't helped.

Going to be a busy day but hoping to find some energy to stitch tonight. The Police and fire stations have open days today so we are taking DS2 and DD to those, then visiting inlaws for dinner, then visiting my mum...then we are going to have a DVD night. :T 'Pirates' with the two little ones then when they are in bed we will watch The Hunger Games with eldest. Going to buy some junk food and relax

Hope everyone else has a stitchy weekend lined up?
