Nearly finished another coaster tonight (would like to make it a set of 4d but having to be careful about stitching now. Hubby has a big stress at the weekend that I have stitchy stuff all over the house and more keeps arriving in the post. Tried to explain that I need extra bits to finish the things for the craft fair. Best not tell him that I might order some more 5x7 pieces from Cross stitch Heaven as I can't find the sparkly one that I originally ordered!!!
Also, he complained that I spend every evening stitching and not 'spending time' with him even though we're in the same room albeit one in the chair and one on the sofa so trying to stitch in an afternoon when the little ones are asleep but that time has be shared with the ironing too!
Bed time now

My hubby is sort of similar. He used to complain that all I wanted for presents was cross stitch stuff and books....but yet he loves getting PS3 games and CD's.....lol
He always complains when I stitch through a movie, seems to think I have to be actually watching the screen to know what is happening....lol....;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0 -

Hope you get your sink sorted soon Eric I had this problem before and it turned out the pipe wasnt fitted tightly enough so they added a special metal clippy thing that you tighten with a screw driver (sorry don't know what they are called) and it was fine
Had a very stressful evening princess imp decided she wasnt going to bed and played up for 2 and a half hours, she has been doing this more and morw latley and I've run out of ideas, when she gets in this mood nothing works with her, you can't talk to her, taking away toys has no effect, telling her you are taking away privileges makes no difference ect. She only does it when her dad is out, although its always me who disciplines her, I don't know why she does it (she's normally very good, apart from this every now and then) or how to get through to her that its not acceptable. Sorry rant over just needed to get it off my chest
The metal clippy thing sounds like a jubilee clip - I order them at work a few times before. Working in the Estates dept I get access to all the trades - so I can ask their advice or kindly ask if any of them could help out. Hence I keep a birthday cake fund and bring in a cake when its their birthday - keeps them sweet. My boss says I spoil them but its a cunning plan if I need them (and it has worked a couple of times).
Not much else happening. Off work today as I am taking hubby to hospital (using one of my holiday days). Might have an early night tonight been feeling more tired than normal last few days.
Keep well everyone

sk00bie1 - great progress on all your projects!
I'm off on holiday to Venice tomorrow, definitely taking the stitching with me0 -
That's it Sweetcarer jubilee clip couldn't remember what it was called, feeling a bit down in the dumps today, might buy myself a big fat cake on the way back from dropping littlest imp at nursery see if that helps and settle down to watch - mothers son13 in 2013 challenge 9/130

Morning ladies
Skoobie. Loving your finished pieces and look forward to seeing more Imagine progress.
Caroline. Nice progress.
Brednall. Really like the Home Sweet Home, the mount is perfect! Also like your craft fair pieces, hope they sell really well for you.
Willow. Oh no! I haven't seen the design you are stitching but does it look ok to leave it 'unique' or could a casual observer tell it's wrong?
As for me. Got 99% of the backstitch finished, just the lines running down the back of the 'wall behind the loo' to do. Spent most of my time yesterday dithering over the blimmin wording questioning whether the font is big enough for the design. So I found a scrap piece of fabric, stitched a couple of words, offered them up to the design and I think it will be ok. Then I decided to change a few letters slightly so had to re-work out the placing.
I just know that today I will check again that the placing of the words is ok before starting to stitch and most likely won't get to start the words. I really do spend toooooo much time dithering when stitching :rotfl::heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Thanks everyone!
Love your pictures Brednall, you have been busy!
I put my mind to it last night and did some work on the blackwork cats while watching The Bodyguard last night (I'm another one who watches TV while I stitch) I managed the top three rows of 'squares' in that time, it's starting to come together!
Not sure if I'll get any more done tonight as I'm going to try and list my first things on eBay
It's nearly [STRIKE]lunchtime[/STRIKE] stitching time though, think I'll go and sit in the sun and work on Imagine.Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger No. 26 :hello:XStitch to do list:-- Birth Sampler -- Christmas Angel -- Mum's Xmas Stitch -- Christmas decs 3 & 4 -- Xmas Bird ---- Snowflake Sonata -- Be Jolly -- JE Unicorn -- Start HAED!!! --0 -
Shelly - I think even a casual observer could tell the colours were a bit off. Maybe I just can't tell colours apart sometimes
Started something else and I triple checked the colours though there's not much difference between "brown" and "tan", I think brown is only a shade off tan.Savings £8,865.22 £/15,000 Aiming to save enough for a house deposit.0 -
My review of the latest Cross Stitcher for anyone that is interested:
Free GIft - Seems like a quick stitch (snowflakes) but probably won't use the Scandi style charts
Fawn gadget cosy - not my style
Nice new designs in the Anchor Autumn/Winter 2012 collection
Scandinavian Christmas - might be some useful elements
Snow silver & white sampler - quite like this and would probably not take too long to stitch
Canvas cross stitch - nice but can't sew so it would never make it to life as a cushion
Retro alphabet - again, useful
Sewing themed gifts - not sure but may be useful
Monograms - useful alphabet
Neon snowflakes - like these
Belle & Boo - sure this will appeal to some but not me I'm afraid
Vegetable images - !!!!!!!!
Retro tea set - like the flowers but not the squirrels
Leaf cushion - again not my thing
Next issue is all Christmas. All in all another waste of £3.99. APologies if you don't all agree but this is just my opinion

Skoobie. Loving the blackwork. Excuse my ignorance but is blackwork like backstitch, just more intricate? I fancy giving it a go as I don't really mind backstitching but yours looks very complicated/intricate......take that to mean too hard for meShelly - I think even a casual observer could tell the colours were a bit off. I completely know what you mean. A while ago I got out all my stash kits and spent a few days just sorting threads into bags and onto cards so that when I start any kit the threads are all sorted.
Some were very easy, for example if you have 3 lengths of brown and 2 of tan but sometimes like you say, when you have 2 lengths of brown and 2 of tan it's a nightmare.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0
