Next year I want to do something quick and easy with a sheep for a friend. Does the blackwork owl have a sheep friend?

Hi debtdalek - can't remember seeing any sheep when I bought the owl. They would have had to come home with me too :D Sorry I can't help with mag either.

What bad luck you have had with the tyres KatyLiz. You certainly deserve some stitchy time tonight after all that. Good Luck.

It's not a silly question and it can be done :):j

Try on a bit of scrap material first but you shouldn't have any problems.

    Morning stitchers!!

Im getting very excited about my kits arriving! I had an email from sew and so last night to say that my order had been dispatched so hopefully will be here very soon – I hope it comes today (wishful thinking!) or in tomorrows post so that I can spend tomorrow evening with a bottle of plonk, a take-away, a film and stitch away!!

Brace yourselves girls - this could be a very silly question :o

I've laminated stitching before. Just make sure the laminator is properly heated up, or pass the stitching through it a couple of times.
It works best if you've managed to keep the back neat (not too lumpy at least). And it looks best if you put a bit of iron on interfacing over the back to hide the back of your stitches. It'll all be on display as much as the front otherwise.

Good luck, and let us know how you get on.

I asked the same question back in 2009 and Louise came to my rescue, as you can see

    Ooooo sounds like bliss!!!

I would bet they will deffo be here by tomorrow at the latest. Many a time I have ordered from them and been amazed when the stuff turned up the next day. If I need threads in a hurry I usually use them, it's worth paying a little extra for thread to get them that fast :T

Quick question for any travellers......hubby and I are flying down to London this weekend to visit firends - what are the restrictions for hand luggage?

We don't want to check in cases, I was looking up the airline details but couldn't see any restrictions on needles? I have a pendant cutter and nail clippers so don't need scissors.

Also - liquids...are they still really strict about you taking stuff on board? I'm thinking shampoo / perfume that sort of thing.

Can you tell I haven't been on a flight since our honeymoon in 2009? :o That was easy though - I just chucked everything remotely troublesome in the big case with no check-in probs lol :rotfl:

Ps - Candlelight and Sweetie Jars are on the pause atm, working on some personalised coasters for people at work.:j

No more than 100ml of liquid in each bottle, in a separate see-through sealable bag(of a specified size, a small sandwich bag is about right) this must be shown at security, I had toothpaste taken off me at Belfast - because it was a 150ml tube, even though it was more than half used.

Depending on your airline, the bag will either have to be a certain size or weight. Ryanair and Easyjet are particularly fussy.

Re scissors/nail clippers - that's a no, but the pendant cutter is ok if you wear it as jewellery. I've never had issues with sewing needles or wooden knitting needles.

    Thanks :)

I will take my smallest of perfume then. Going to have problems with my contact lens solution - only have 250ml bottles :(

Never even thought about the size of toothpaste lol

Bag should be okay, I have had it on a flight before and it fitted the guide easily.

You can get little bottles from apecsavers, specifically for this reason... or pour some into another little bottle ;)
