I actually had to read this bit twice as where I live it is common to call the girlfriend "the bird".....:rotfl:

    So did I :P
  • Please accept my apologies for all of those I will miss in this catch up post

Elle - Forest Walk is looking stunning. I’m also in the “need to live to 400” category

Soulie - loved seeing what everyone else likes but HAED charts are not my favourites so I managed to resist your tempting messages :D

I assume everyone has seen the Paddington Bear kits at half price at Sewandso?

Ailsb – IMHO the caravan is feminine – flower boxes and pink frilly curtains at the windows

Louise - love what you have done with Maria’s phrase

Mrsmp – great progress on Titanic. Hope you enjoy your holiday – you deserve a break. Loved the pics of your earlier work – the blackwork hot air balloons are stunning

Maria – the fish look brilliant – well done; good progress on the quilt squares

Sweetcarer – lovely wedding sampler and no one would ever guess the source of the frame; floral sampler is looking really nice

Pennib the cats picture is delightful even if not exactly true to life :rotfl:

I am back to stitching my Angel Stocking again after taking a break to make a Stitcher's Cushion - if anyone would like to see it here is the link

Looking forward to the Closing Ceremony tonight but will be really sorry that the Olympics are over:(

Hav e a good evening everyone

Re the Fizzy Moon kit, I thought it might look good on christmas green aida BUT I don't have any 16 count xmas green and oddly, Willow Fabrics sell xmas red 16 count but not 16 count xmas green and sew and so don't have it either :( so I shall probably stitch it on 14 count xmas green instead. Shame as I think it would have looked good in the card mount they supplied...

Watching the closing ceremony and stitching my GoodMarriage which is coming along nicely. will try and post a picture tomorrow - hopefully might be finished it then.

Am I alone on this one or is the closing ceremony dull as dish water?

Just got a bit more watchable - Russell Brand (I like).

    Also enjoyed Eric Idle.

Think I was just being grouchy (sp) as hubby had to go away on business this afternoon and not back until Thursday. Son and Dad away in dorset so on my own. Not too good on my own.

On a positive note I'm going to get lots of stitching done.

  • I watched the whole ceremony, singing along and I loved it just as I loved the opening ceremony (for completely different reasons) and loved the Olympics in general. Before the start I was quite content grumbling and boycotting anything Olympic related. Can't wait to see some of the Para Olympics though will be away for a week of it.

    Morning ladies.

Maria, sweetcarer & pennib. Nice updates from you all.

Sort of framed the CC slide yesterday in one of the B&M frames Louise posted. I swear last week when Louise gave me the measurements the fabric was slightly bigger than the frame. Yesterday when I went to frame it, the fabric has shrunk heightwise! :rotfl:
Used the mount that came with it in the end. Cut the middle out of the mount and used a nail emery board to get the angled edge, did a good job, even if I do say so myself :D
Will post a pic when it's finished properly as it needs a little trimming and ironing once I have made sure Mum is as happy as I am with it.
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:
