Morning brednall I always hate it when there isn't enough info on eBay, I like to know what I'm buying! Well got a phone call from the hospital asking me to go in for my tests yesterday, mri was horrible, but all tests came back fine so that is one less worry. Hopefully the letters i have been waiting for will come today and this will be a good week !

So glad your tests came back OK Maria :)

    Ladies, I need help!

I've got my polstitches basket ready but I can't decide which fabric to get for Imagine so I need your ideas! I was thinking of heavenly, delicate roses or summer breeze but I don't know!!!

I also seem to have indulged my weakness for Christmas designs again and am gettting Snow Garden from Blackbird Designs and Snowflake Serenade from Country Cottage Needlecrafts .... oops!

I Think I'll do them as gifts for people though. (probably won't but I'll keep telling myself I'll give them away )

    Everyone's work is looking great.
No stitching done here yesterday. I had a late dinner, watched Inside natures giants that I had recorded and promptly fell asleep :D I was going to stitch whilst ING was on but it's the kind of thing I have to watch, not just listen to.

  • Hi Guys:j

I have been reading this Cross Stitch Cafe Thread (and the previous ones) with great interest and I can't believe the impressive pieces of work you guys manage to create.

I have just got back into cross stitch recently, my Auntie taught me about 15 years ago when I was a kid.

So far have completed a small card design for my mum and a needle case thingy, currently am stitching a larger design (huge for me but small by some of your standards!) of an eye and a butterfly, I'm sure I saw someone else had stiched this in the old cafe thread. It's taking me forever but I'm getting there slowly!

As it was my Auntie who taught me to stitch and she has now passed away a few years ago my mum suggested I stitch something for my Uncle (her husband) but this is where I'm running into problems. I would like to do a smaller design as this current one is taking me forever, but everything I can find is a bit flowery or girly.
I was thinking a happy birthday or christmas design as a card but thought it would be nicer to do something he could keep up all year round so this is where I am appealing to all of your vast knowledge for suggestions of things I can do. If anyone has suggestions of something sort of blokey I could stich I would be very greatful.

You see this is where the problem arises, he's not particularly into anything really.

In his youth he used to ride a motorbike, a Triumph I believe, I have found a couple of patterns for mortobikes but they are a lot larger and more detailed than what I'd like really.

Other than that he used to live in London before moving to Devon, have seen a few London ones but again are too big and detailed.

I know it's not really much to go on.

Oooh, just had an idea, could maybe stitch his name with some kind of border around, that wouldn't be too difficult I don't think.

Anyone know where I can get some free Alphabets?

Everyone is a bit quiet - does that mean you are all busy stitching? :D

Hi, sorry for going quiet again. We had a busy wknd prepping for camping next wknd.

On Monday I had some dreadful news. My cousin killed himself, monday lunchtime. He'd visited his parents on sunday and he was noticsbly happier than usual. We didnt know he felt so bad, hopeless, or whatever he was feeling; its been a real shock to the whole family :(. Sorry for bringing bad news. Keeping it to myself, ignoring it, feels disrespectful. Sorry.
