  • Manic couple of days for me so only just catching up with all the posts and not been sble to do much stitching. I sorted out the threads and did a few stitches on Imagine on Monday evening - that's all. Reading the responses to Louise's "are you all busy stitching?" query it seems as though I'm not the only one with too many other things getting in the way of stitching

BobbisMummy - hope you will be feeling well enough to stitch soon

Louise - really looking forward to seeing your pics of Circe on that fabulous fabric. I agree it just wouldn't be the same on a plain background.

I remember Sandy Littlejohn did quite a lot of ladies in period costume thoug it doesn't seem like 7 years ago

My copy of WOCS arrived yesterday but I haven' even had time to open it yet. I love reading other people's views on the designs in each magazine so thank you b-e-g and Maria

Ailsb your logic makes perfect sense to me but then anything that justifies buying stash always does :D

Brednall - I agree with Maria that the more detail in a listing the better though it does seem like a lot of effort on low value items such as charts. But I think you are quite right that some designers are especially popular and prospective buyers will search for them by name. Good luck with the selling.

Maria - really pleased about your good news on the tests

Thank you for all the positive comments about my coaster and I will photograph my Millennium Sampler though it may not be before the weekend.

And we also have torrential rain though that is better than the hail we had yesterday

Maria - glad the tests went well.

Spiral - sorry to hear about your cousin. My cousin did the same and we had no idea. Although I never really had much to do with him I can remember feeling bad that no one knew how he was feeling. It must be awful to feel so low and not be able to share it with anyone.

Cosmopolitan - welcome to the cafe. Look forward to seeing your work. What about doing your uncle a coaster with his initial and a small design of some sort, maybe a motorbike.

I haven't received my copy of WOXS yet, not that I am waiting to stitch anything.

So glad your tests came back OK Maria :)

    Ladies, I need help!

I've got my polstitches basket ready but I can't decide which fabric to get for Imagine so I need your ideas! I was thinking of heavenly, delicate roses or summer breeze but I don't know!!!

I also seem to have indulged my weakness for Christmas designs again and am gettting Snow Garden from Blackbird Designs and Snowflake Serenade from Country Cottage Needlecrafts .... oops!

I Think I'll do them as gifts for people though. (probably won't but I'll keep telling myself I'll give them away )

Love the charts you have selected - our tastes are very similar.
I have just started the Imagine design. The thread colours are not quite what I expected - brighter and more green but very effective. All the fabrics you have picked out are lovely. My preference is Delicate Roses though Summer Breeze would also work well. Not sure about Heavenly due to the turquoise shades against the thread colours. Just my opinion. I've just spotted a new fabric on there which I love "cobblestones" but must resist.

    WOCS - Issue 190

Well, I think it's actually a good thing that I can say there is nothing from this months's magazine which has made my to-do list. *sigh of relief*

There are some nice designs in it, but none to my tastes really.

AOY cover kit - Not bad, but I will probably give that away

Somebunny - looks a little Easter-ish? Looks cute but has the backstitch tht doesn't follow the holes so not for me (is there a technical term for that backstitch??)

Teacup Shelf - Pretty and old fashioned

Flower cards - they are very effective looking but you all know my feelings about stitching flowers by now :o

Diamond Jubillee - Congrats to the queen and all that but I can never understand why anyone would want a sampler celebrating someone elses' achievement on their wall? (or wedding even - lots of Will and Kate stuff last year) Sorry to those who like that sort of thing lol.

Circus items (design library) - some nice motifs in there, will come in useful for cards at some point

Cupcake of the month - Meh.

Interactive cards - look to fiddly, none of the designs appeal

Butterfly cushion - hmmm....I like Joan Elliot, as soon as I opened the page I recognised her style but it's just a bit...too much iyswim....:o

Baby blocks - cute, filed for future.

    Milton the bear - adorable

Garden gifts - it's a bit bland for me

Next month - There's a couple of big cats coming up that I know some of you will like :)

Sk00bie - my preference is for the Summer Breeze fabric :)

If I end up buying anything from that site today I shall have to blame you :D
