Turns out that even though I have about half of the DMC colours I only had one of the ones that I need so I've just picked different colours for all of them. My project is a Lizzie Kate alphabet so I figure that as mu colours all look nice together it won't matter if they aren't the same as the chart says.

elliep I've stitched this Lizzie kate design and really enjoyed doing it. Her charts usually have DMC conversions but I think the reason the ABC series don't is that the chart comes with the threads. I've got a bit of each left and Secondhand Rose is variegated pink along the DMC 223, 224, 225 range and Queen Bee is a yellowish brown close to DMC 437. Having said that the design would look just as good in any colours you choose as they are mainlyuse as a background for each letter so you don't even have to use another pink for Secondhand Rose etc.

Thanks for the comments on the Dragon. I have done a bit more tonight.

Very good pics and projects coming along on here. I love the birth samplers and the xmas decs.

BEADS - I have a quick question regarding them. All the design is using 2 threads. Do I use 2 threads to attach the beads or just 1 thread. Also is it better putting the beads on last or as you go. I am using a hoop on this one if that makes any difference.

    Thanks

Using 1 or 2 threads is up to you but if you are using a hoop leave the beads until the end as you can't put the hoop over areas whree there are beads attached. I like to attach beads using a cross stitch as this anchors them better than just stitching them once (does this make sense? ) And it's best to use a colour of thread to match the bead colour where possible
  • Skoobie - love the card and the Xmas decorations - I agree they look complicated. Is it difficult stitching on perforated paper? I've looked at it and thought it would be easy to rip it.

catwoman - lovely to see the start of your dragon

Bobbismummy - well done on sharing your first photo with us - looking forward to seeing more progress pics on Noah's Ark

Augustsmummy - hope things improve on CP front soon

Sweetcarer - Little Boy Blue and the teddy sampler are both really cute. The frame really sets off the teddy sampler well Hope you are as lucky finding something suitable for LBB

I have been making progress on my Millennium UFO - am determined to finish it this time
  • Thanks tellmeitsfriday. Wanted to make sure, going to do these for dds party bags and then get back to my lady. All was going well yesterday till about 3pm when I had a funny turn outside school, could see or hear so rung husband who works just down the road and he came and got me the kids and car, told him I needed to go home and he took one look at me and drove me straight to a&e, I can't remember anything. Apparently I was talking jibber jabber, was making no sense, couldn't remember kids names, was shaking, deathly white, husband organised for kids and car to be picked up and stayed with me, a couple of paracetamals and tests later including a brain scan, ended up I had had a server migraine and anemia. So cue a day on the sofa!

Sorry for off topic but I wanted to tell someone, and I'm not allowed out, hubby has decided!

Oh dear maria, I'm sorry to hear you were so ill and hope you're feeling better now. Your hubby sounds lovely.

I'm going to start my ABC today I think. Gotta finish my knitting first because if I don't I'll end up with a knitted UFO and I'm so close I can't let that happen.

Oh Maria so sorry to hear about your migraine. It's difficult for non migraine sufferers to appreciate just how disabling a migraine can be. It's not just a bad headache! I've learned over the years how to spot the early signs and have identified my triggers (red wine, extreme tiredness and long haul flights being the main ones) so that I can take painkillers immediately. It doesn't always work but does help reduce the severity of the attack. Hope you feel better soon.
