I think chicky just meant 1 timers who just request, ignoring the advice in post 1, using and perhaps abusing our good will.
So anyone engaging in the conversation, or still here reading whether joining in or not, can't be one of those!
Thank you 23rd, yes checking through I think I offended people without meaning too simply cause I didn't make this point clear.
I certainly don't post/ commment on everything as hard as I try to keep up baby brain (it's a good excuse and I can use it for a few more years) turns some info to mush before I can respond.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
I was wondering if anyone had ever tried a frame called grip n stitch. If so please can you answer my concerns below.
I didn't get my lapframe at the NEC and a friend said she would dig her frame out for me which turned out to be the above.
I am very loathe to try it as it has "teeth" to grip the fabric and I'm convinced that it will be difficult to get taut and that it will make holes
I have used the grip and stitch frame and they are good. Make sure your fabric is plenty big enough so the teeth dont't damage any fabric that will be seen after framing. You need one hand to hold it whilst stitching though so no super speedy Louise style stitching. Since buying my lap fframe I have sold the two g and s frames on fleabay.

Everyone's progress/finish pics are great. I especially love the christmas decs, very nice. Reminds me that I have a tree dec kit in my stash.
Got some stitching done today. Seems like I managed quite alot as I was filling in quite a few small areas. You know the ones, they only need half a dozen stitches so get left till you can be bothered....or is that just me :rotfl:
Oh and I played a mind trick on myself....if such a thing can be done. The chunk of chart I have left to stitch, I cut it in half so that it doesn't look like I have so much left to do:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
I'm glad we r all happy again.
BIG thanks to whoever posted the Dolphin silhouette, I passed the link to a friend, she ordered the bee chart immediately on sat, and it arrived today! Good service!!
Skoobie they are lovely! They look really complicated!
Aislb that's lovely! I love old Singers, my sewing table (where my 15yr old machine sits), is a 1930s Elite Table with a singer all nestled up underneath. My hall table is a classic wood and iron singer table with hanging machine. Oops, I'll stop there! There's only 4 in the house, I won't mention the shed!!
My Wee Little Stitches charts came in emailed PDFs that night, really quick! So now I need to finish crafty fox so I can start something new. Humm, I've 2 wedding samplers to do this year, but Big Bang Theory or Breakfast Club is so appealing! And i can watch the appropriate thing whilst stitching! http://www.etsy.com/listing/61404071/the-breakfast-club-cross-stitch-patternRelax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Skoobie- I'm sure your mum will love her card. I think the Christmas decs are great. I've got some perforated paper Christmas things (can't remember exactly what) somewhere in my stash as well.
Chicky - I read somewhere that once you've had a baby your brain never fully recovers so you can blame baby brain for many years to come - I do!!Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

I treated myself to one. at 35 it was a lot cheaper than the usual 75pounds, but still the most i've ever paid for a cusion. it's cream with a big red heart on and 'with love' on top. i really love her new designs for the Jubilee, and want her Map wall hanging, but at several hundred it's not gonna happen!
* got the new Cross Stitcher yesterday, and for once i think it's brilliant! ok, the Jan Constantine article helps(never rains but it pours, shes everywhere!), but actually there's a lot in it i might stitch, esp now my stitching bug seems to be returning

23rdSpiral I called into TKMaxx yesterday am but no Jan Constantine cushionsI know the design you bought and it's fab so welll done you on a great bargain
However while browsing the home department I did pick up 4 glass storage jars for £1 each :money: - 2 with Kilner type clips and 2 with screw tops like the ones featured in this month's Cross Stitcher. I already use glass jars for a lot of my stitchy/crafty bits and these are a great addition at a brilliant price so thank you. I won't use the patterns from Cross Stitcher but will find something else suitable. I know a lot of people don;t agree but I like the changes that were made to Cross Stitcher but that's probably because I sew as well as cross stitch. I like the way that CS and WOCS have different designs - they were getting very similar before CS made the changes.0 -

Thanks for letting me know your experience with the g&p.
I'm still not convinced either that it will be easy to get it taut, as you'd have to stretch it over the teeth and then it would inevitably slip back slightly.
As you say it's also still going to have to be held and of course you can't swap in and out of different projects easily either.
I'm going to return it to the friend who loaned it to me and save up again for the lap frame, or put it on my birthday wish list.0 -
Someone asked earlier, this is the chart I'm stitching but I'm using all the wrong colours!
It was me! Thanks for postingI love the those Lizzy*Kate designs, especially the christmas ABC. I have a weakness for christmassy designs
And I'm sure yours will look great with different colours!Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger No. 26 :hello:XStitch to do list:-- Birth Sampler -- Christmas Angel -- Mum's Xmas Stitch -- Christmas decs 3 & 4 -- Xmas Bird ---- Snowflake Sonata -- Be Jolly -- JE Unicorn -- Start HAED!!! --0
