  • Made a decision this morning, am struggling to get on with my hae so I think I'm going to put her aside for a couple of weeks and do something else and come back to her, I don't want to end up not liking it and it ending up feeling like a chore

    morning all
sorry to hear about the pullback on the crochet dragon, i had to do that on one of the little bodywamers i was knitting, my fault i hadnt knitted for a while and just picked it up and carried on with the yoke shaping only when i came to dividing for the armholes did i realise i had way too many stitches, but i only had to pull a few rows back not start again.

well done on the will power louise,

i must follow your lad and try to get a system flower of scotland.
i buy a lot of mags and stuff at carboots, i trouble is a few sellers split the cover kits from the mags so ive got a box in the black hole of coverkits with no instructions, i must sort through them and see if i can marry any up with the mags ive got.

did a few more inches of titanic sky over the last couple of days

    hope everyone is well

hope the pox arent too itchy augustsmummy

I did the same thing with my Durham cathedral. I'm toying with the idea of doing a few hours when I finish Dear Santa, or perhaps bringing it to work and doing a few stitches at lunchtime. Even if I only did 10 a day, I'd feel like I was making progress!

Louise - Hope your evenweave has arrived today!

Augustmummy - Sorry to hear about the your little one's chicken pox, hope she doesn't get too itchy!

I've had a panic today, merrily stitching away SIL party paws card and realising it's Mum's birthday first

Luckily I had some mags on me ( Cross stitch addict - moi? :rotfl: ) and I think I've decided to do one of the Assisi designs from WOXS. At the moment the balloons and cake on a stand designs are winning. I like the candles but would do a different border if I decided on them.

However I need help/suggestions... Do you think I could use the really tiny seed beads instead of the french knots or is that sacrilege? I'm also thinking about changing the colours, maybe using gold thread instead of the tan. What do you all think?

PS still not finished Dear Santa, three rows of writing and the flying santa to go!!!

No it hasn't  and we are off to York in the morning so will be gone before the post arrives, and OH won't be home until after Hobbycraft closes so I'm a bit stuck.

I have tons of aida, but with it being a medieval design I wanted the background fabric to look delicate and an antique colour. :(

Regarding seed beads - of course it would look good! Better in fact, as it will look like you've gone to extra effort :D I also think a broghter colour than the tan would look nie - I stitched the cake one and it looks nice but I wished I had swopped the colours.

  • Could someone please recommend a good software designer for me please? Either free or moderately priced? I've tried Stoik but my free trial has ended and don't want to pay that much for one. I've also tried XS Professional but it won't let me save or print, so much good!

I don't want anything too fandangled because I'm really technophobic, I just have some nice pictures I want to convert.

    Many thanks

Don't know if I am allowed to ask this on here but if not I am sorry.

I have been clearing out my craft room and have come across some cross stitch kits that I have not opened. Due to poorer eyesight I would love to sell these. Can anyone recommend anywhere other than Ebay to sell these?

    Thanks

do you have enough to do a carboot stall or perhaps you could photograph them an put them on postcards in a shop window (like a newsagents that sells stitchy mags)
