Thank you for the kind wishes everyone. xxx

The snow did melt overnight thankfully, we had a few flurries in the morning and it rained at the cemetery but it all stopped just after the coffin was lowered and the sun came out for the end. The wake was lovely, we filled the same hall which he had his 60th birthday party in the other week - and everyone loved the memory book and it is pretty full now!

Today has very much been a 'what now?' sort of day - I have cleaned the fridge, the kitchen, tackled 2 weeks worth of ironing:o done 2 loads of washing and various other tasks. No stitching - I can't really concentrate.

Ruth_honey - what a lovely idea, it sounds like it was very fitting!

augustmummy - good luck with the op when it comes round x

Dorastar - good to see you back, glad you found your bug again :) I know what you mean about the Gorjusss charts, I have one which is a UFO :o

Maria - I haven't seen any LOTR charts but will keep an eye out, are you looking for a particular character?

Louise - I am glad to hear everything went as well as can be hoped under the circumstances. All I can say is to make time for yourself to grieve and gain support from others when needed.

Sounds like there is a lot of progress being made by you all - can't wait to see some pictures.

Glad the day went as well as could be expected Louise, and that your memory book has been well used and apreciated, it's a wonderful idea.

Take the time to look after yourself; you have been whirling round being so busy preparing for the funeral and now you don't know what to do with yourself. Keeping busy can be a help, but sometimes you just need to sit and contemplate, and have a cry if needs be (or lots of them). It's the shock of your parent actually leaving, no matter how much preparation you do, and how much you think it might be a blessed release for him/her....it's still a shock, so take your time to come to terms with it all.

I have a picture of my mum in my bedroom and I talk to her every day. It does help a bit to see her there and have a natter with her. Somedays she even talks back to me, in my head at least...telling me off sometimes too!!

    Lots of (((hugs))) xxx

Thanks xx - funnily enough a good friend of mine texted the exact same thing just 10 mins ago. I know it hasn't hit me yet, it doesn't feel real - my brain is still telling me he is sitting round at my mum's house watching his favourite programme :(

My David Bowie kit came from here. Very fast delivery and good quality fabric and threads. I'm thinking of getting the LOTR silhouette one for a friends 50th birthday. Not done much stitching last couple of weeks as I started a new job and been doing very long days. But four days off now woo hoo!!
