DH bought me an epilator so i use that once youve got used to the apin of waxing it isnt too bad but epilating your underarms needs a strong nerve to start with.

I use an epilator too :) I discovered a hint online that helped with the underarms put talc on them, i found it much easier and less painful. It's funny the feeling of the epilator its like a red hot knife scraping your skin then its over :rotfl: I've even done my bikini line with it

Still no threads from acrosstown, i'm not in any rush though but i hope they come tomorrow as i ordered them on Monday.

  • Hello everyone
Sorry it has been awhile since my last visit. As usual health has been an issue, but for once not just mine (had a horrible night in hospital last week with DS poor little mite with a suspected Asthma attack).

Sorry to hear about everything that has been happening Louise - (((hugs)))

    Thinking of you MrsMonneypenny (((hugs)))

Well my stitchy bug is back which is something at least, and I have finally started to tackle the UFO I nicknamed "Darth Duck". So far 3 ducks down, 1 nearly done and 1 to do. Should hopefully get it finished next week :).

Hope everyone has enjoyed the sunshine, and managed some stitchy time tonight!

((((((Hugs)))))) to Mrs M, Louise and anyone else feeling in need of some. xx

My x-stitchy bug has been awol for months and months now . But I have been rather busy with lots of knitting and other kinds of sewing (patchwork, bag-making etc). I plan on taking some x-stitching when I head for Scotland in 3 weeks time...surely I will get something done then!!

Lovely works here, just need to get my a*** into gear again. Don't think I will take the Eegant Lady up, not sure if I can find room for the lap-frame, though I'll have a try! :D Flying up you see, and away for 15 days!! Also giving a knitting workshop in Orkney, so need to take samples and supplies!!

Have a great weekend everyone...if you can xx

FE - I’m sooo not a people person so I probably wouldn’t have stopped in the first place and would most defiantly have gone as soon as I had helped if I chose to do so.

    Mrs M, Sk00bie1, Louise – Big Hugs.

Shelly – I don’t think even the joy of a new iron would bring me to tackle my pile. Feel free to try it out over here if you want.

I’ve waxed my own legs when I was younger, it hurt but it was bearable. Now epilators…………OWWW.

Nmmmm – best get a wriggle on with that then, glad to hear they are doing ok – 4 weeks is always touch and go for a few days.

Hope DS is ok now Augustsmummy.

Well I’m back off my holiday (glad you didn’t talk much I could barly access my e-mails and facebook let alone MSE). Thankfully the sun stayed out for 2 days so we could get out and about and go on the beach.
Silly me went and bought shorts and strappy tops on Wednesday so that was the end of the hot weather.
We spent most nights in the pub and all I wanted to do was sleep when we got back to the caravan at 10pm …….which was more then the boys wanted too. So I now have another UFO as only managed about 100 stitches on the little kit I took with me.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

Ditto with the big hugs. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Not sure where the week has gone. No cross stitch managed - not even one solo little stitch.:( Last night I fell asleep on the sofa not long after watchdog.... only to wake an hour or so later head off to bed for a further snooze before waking up when the OH returned from the pub quiz (he didn't win) and then to be further interrupted from the land of nod a short time later because the cat had brought in a FISH  I'm keeping a low profile with the neighbours :rotfl:

Chicky, was your holiday good ?? Damn sun. how rude

Umm re your comment about being stopped by a stranger, I think the thing that is bugging me the most is the fact that I was party to bothering the emergency services when more than likely there was no need. Particularly when I read the news story of the woman decanting petrol in her kitchen :eek::eek: Any how not much I can do now and funny enough he walked past me tonight while I was waiting for my bus so will be interesting to see if I see him again although not sure I would be brave enough or indeed it be sensible for me to ask him how he is!

what does everyone else have planned for the weekend? I expect I shall reacquaint myself with pooh bear :T

Lancs Lady - has your x stitch arrived yet? Mine hasn't I sent her a msg on ebay and she replied she would check with the post office but I've not heard anything back, that was 3 days ago.

    Hi everyone :(

I'm absolutely gutted to say that my Dad passed away on wednesday. He was only in the hospice two days, we thought he had a couple of weeks left, but I know he wouldn't have liked hanging on. It was so fast, the nurses asked him if he wanted a better mattress, he said he was fine, they checked his legs, looked back and he was gone. The whole family is devastated, as are his friends - we are expecting a huge turnout at the funeral :(

The funeral is on Wednesday and there is a reason I'mm on here, because I need some help from you guys.....I told my mum I would sort out the 'Condolences' book for the wake. However I want to chart and stitch something personalisedfor the front cover, so I have a small poem to stitch and I am looking for some small cross stitch charts.

So, anyone who gets the Cross stitch card shop mag for example might have the most luck in helping me find motifs to represent any the following items:
Cameras, Whisky, Egypt, Las Vegas, Remote Control/Mobile phone, Austria, Music, 'Dad' designs, parcels, Guinness.

I would REALLY appreciate any help with this, I only have a few days to chart and stitch this and it is hopefully going to keep my mind focused as the whole situation hasn't sunk in yet - thank you all in advance xx
