Mine has been on an HAED for well over a year and washed out easily. Never had a problem washing pen marks out. They wash out more easily than the pre-gridded aida fabric as well.
Oh thank goodness for that I was getting a bit panicky and was going to wash it on the next page completition. I also have one stuck in a draw with the pen still on it has been there a while - I think I'll get that out and wash it just to be sure.
Thanks for the comments I also love the colours although the big blocks of background do get a bit boring after a while. But I love this picture so much I have to stick with it.

P.S. I'm going try to keep up with this thread a bit more this year, I love looking at everyones progress and finished pieces. :TMum to 4 beautiful children

Re washable pens, I used one when I did the cut through princess palace, I washed it and framed it and it was fine, but it hangs in the sun and the aida is now covered in pale yellow lines.where the pen was, I can only assume this is where the sun has been on it, but I can't get it to wash out ! It was on there for about 3 months whilst I was stitching it ! X13 in 2013 challenge 9/130

August mummy.... I can only think she wanted u try all sorts before u possibly couldn't anymore? Still not very thoughtful but that's the best I can come up with.
Maria... That's awful! U should take photos and email to the company. Thank you for warning us. That sounds like it might ultimately be damaging the fabric

I hope everyone enjoyed their NYE? We did. Eventually! Drains backed up yesterday, so all day spent with caustic soda and rods. Fun. Quick wash, tidy and then hosting a last minute birthday party for a close pregnant friend. Bed at 4am! Up at 10.30 to cook breakfast for all (pizza!) All gone by 1.30, OH back to deb, for me, movies and stitching. Ahhh. Think I'll Hoover up the last of the homemade tirramisu and stop writing waffle!
*bed. NOT Deb! OH back to bed!!! Wow that's a good autocorrect!!! Better say night night now hadn't I? XxRelax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Progress on Candlelight - started on Boxing day.
There was aida and evenweave in the kit, glad I chose the evenweave now - there are a lot of those fiddly half stitches which would be a nightmare on aida.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Oh no thats awful espcially when so much work goes into them, I think I'll definately get them washed, the HAED will have to wait till the next page change.
Wow Louise you progress so quickly and candlelight is looking great.

I've started another Project 365 on Flickr - that's a commitment to take (and publish) a photograph every day for a year. I've done one of these before, about 4 years ago (the results are here) and it was a real challenge. To get one decent photo, up to my own standard for putting on the web, every single day is not easy but it certainly helps you to take better pictures :rotfl:
So - day 2 of my Project 365 (Take 2) is here - an update on Tenby Harbour taken with the phone and tarted up a bit with a free app.
