Well I've finished the patchwork horse - all except the name and border which I can't do until the baby is born (PG).

I'm not quite sure what you mean :o
But to import a photo from your computer in to the program do the following:

    File >
    Import >
    Image Importing >

    On the pop up box:

    File >
    Open >
Locate the .jpg (best quality of the 3 available options) >
This is where it's going wrong, I can't locate the file - I get to here but then when I open the folder it's all blank, even though I have them saved as 3 different types of files :(
    Hit Open >

Select size of finished cross stitch, amount of colours, type pf thread and fabric count >

    Hit import

Thanks for the info, I'll have another look at it later. Flippin pooters....

I have the same problem when I select the wizard to do the importing, but the other way is fine. Make sure you're not using the 'Image Import Wizard'.

    Hi everyone

flowerofscotland - its a bit too ambitious I think so I`m going to have a practice at another little one:(

    nannon - i love the baby sampler.:D

Can I ask a question please. When you are following a pattern how do you know what squares you`ve stitched and which ones you havent. On my koala bears I coloured in the squares as I was going but I made a right mess. Is there other ways?:o

Thanks all for your nice comments about the patchwork horse, I'm really pleased with it and enjoyed stitching it.

Louise - This is the picture of the Footprints poem that I am going to stitch.

I think I've made a decision that as this is for me I am going to try to finish a UFO before I start this. I can't face the tiger still so going to have a go at the Dragons toasting marshmallows which I started about 11 years ago. Will post an update at the weekend.$(KGrHqQOKpEE5ZME29CDBOYf,DQPNQ~~_12.JPG

I use differnet methods depending on whether I think I will reuse the chart in future. If I know I am going to restitch at some stage I photocopy the original, normally increasing the size to save my eyes, then I am happy to colour the squares in pencil as I stitch. If I think there is a possibility of using the chart again at some point and the size is okay I still colour in but use highlighter pen as this doesn't show up when it's photocopied.

    Hope that helps.

I do exactly the same thing - works well - until you unpick something!!
Anyway, my good news is that I think I may have found a xs class or club to go to. I need something to make me do some each week.
Bumped into a lady today who has a friend who runs such a thing ,so will hopefully have the info' tomorrow.

I always photocopy my charts so as to keep the original in good condition incase I re-stitch in the future or sell/pass it on.
I use a pencil to colour in as I go because I am good at making mistakes so it's easy to rub out and re-do.
To keep my hand clean when colouring in the stitched squares I use a scrap piece of paper under the edge of my hand.

Yeah I photocopy mine too - then I colour them with whatever I can get my sticky hands on at the time - at the moment I have a yellow highlighter....
