Ailsb - I am looking for something along the lines of a nice cross or something which I can stitch her name, first holy communion and date on it.

Cross Stitch has kept me sane whilst I have had to slow down whilst recovering from an op. Havent cross stitched for years but really enjoying doing my picture for my futher new nephew.

Sazdaz - i've looked and really struggled to come up with any communion cross-stitch charts/ kits. How about a lords prayer or childs prayer??

e.g. this one with the name/ date etc stitched under the picture?

Sazdaz - I've checked my charts and I can't find the main book I was thinking of or the charts that I did myself. I have found 2 chart booklets which have various designs in. If any are any good you know what to do.

By following this link I came to a site I had not visited before and they had on special offer the "Fleur" kit which I was tempted by - with free postage as well I couldn't refuse could I ?:D

So thank you Chicky for the recommendation
  • I.m on the mailing list for The Victoria Sampler (Canadian company) I don't know anyone for whom I could stitch this Love is Patient wedding sampler at the moment but I think it is gorgeous.

BTW the stitch animiations on the site are brilliant

Popcorn bear is coming along nicely for my soon to be here nephew. I was wondering whether any one has come across anything for a Holy Communion as would like to do something for my niece in June.

This is a kit by Vervaco showing a little girl. I tried to find the design I stitched about 20 years ago but failed

    That's very pretty :)

Carrying on with candlelight here - I remembered why I took a break from it - all those fractional stitches! Also looking like I might run out of threads for it, will need to find a good anchor conversion chart as I only have DMC threads.

New Stitches magazine always used to have excellent conversion charts and these are now on their website - you have to become a member to access the converter but it's a simple process.

I know what you mean about the fractional stitches on Heritage designs - it's one of the reasons why I prefer to stitch them on evenweave instead of aida.

Are you running out of thread on a kit you bought or did you source your own threads with a chart? I ask only because if you bought a kit and are running short of thread I would recommend contacting the company and asking for more thread - I have done this with DMC kits and always received a prompt response with the threads needed.

It was a kit - I rarely buy kits for this reason, I never use Anchor otherwise.

I will check out the conversion first, emailing is more hassle, then there is the wait for them to send the replacements out, I will be happy if I can get a good match :)
