    Glimpse of a Unicorn

Help me decide which to do first!!

I think both of the ones you have bought are stunning. I have a slight preference for the Unicorn (as you asked).

And I love The Journey in your other choices.

You can have chicken pox more than once... most people build up immunity to it after the first dose, but some people get it more than once...

    ahh ok rare tho.
Can I get chickenpox more than once?

    Yes, you can!
In a study, up to 13% (around one in eight) of people diagnosed with chickenpox reported that they had had the condition before.
Usually, you develop antibodies to the infection first-time round, and become immune to catching it again.
It seems that some people simply don't develop the antibodies needed to protect them against re-infection.
But experts generally agree that if you've had chickenpox once before, you're unlikely to have it again.

i knew you could get shingles even if you'd had chicken pox (praying i don't get that).

i thought you could only get it once, i got about 2 spots on my stomach during my exams showed them mum she agreed chicken pox and said i could either miss my exams or keep quiet and make sure shirt stayed tucked in (i did my exams) must have made me immune as i totally escaped it when ours had it.

I've been planning to do 12 different monthly stitches to display each month. There are some gorgeous Irish Samplers like

which I def want to do - but time is short and I think it would really look better on evenweave, so until I get the hang of that...

I think this should be quite quick - it better be only 16 days until the big day (St Paddys:beer:)

While on the subject of free charts, has anyone looked in freebie section on the HAED site lately? There's a few really nice ones there.

just a quick question. I am sure someone ;);) me "I stitch therefore I stash". Am looking for it to pass onto someone else and can't find it saved anywhere.

Don't suppose someone could do the necessary if they have it and get a minute can they? PLEASE.

RE the chicken pox, it is rare to catch it more than once but one of my boys has alrwady had it twice and he is only 12, both my OH and I work in education (though I have not been working for the last few months). Every time we hear of a student who has chicken pox we get worried just in case:(

benny1981 I love that Irish sampler, I will have to add it to my to stitch list:)

I got some stitching done last night and this afternoon but got distracted when mr postman brought my Polstitches parcel:j Very quick delivery. I now have everything I need to begin stitching my Green Goddess. Once I have finished my WIP of course;) I also ordered Joan Elliots Astrologer, earth goddess and Celtic angels charts and I now I have seen the charts I can't wait to start stitching them.

    Happy stitching all:)

My great aunt has just had shingles so my mum had me doing research before she went to visit.

I found out you can't catch shingles from someone who has chicken pox. According to the sites I read the virus stays in your body from the chicken pox and can become active again causing shingles so don't worry about catching it!

    See here for more info!

I've taken your advice on board and will do the Unicorn first, I just need to save up for the threads etc :rotfl:

No doubt it'll be a while and I'll forget and have to ask everyone's opinion again as to which one to do :D

I finish work in an hour and then am off for a week! Woo hoo, bring on the stitching! :T

This is what you are, a naughty stitchy devil tempting us all.

There are some fab designs on that site. Lots of quite small ones which could be put together or stitched separately.

Chicky - sorry (although do agree it's best for children to get chickpox when young) your little ones has Chickpox. I was 22 and my husband 23 when we got them and were both really ill. I tried exposing my son to them everytime someone told me they had them but he's 13 now and still not had them. I will check if I've got the "stash" chart and if so do the honours.
