Brednall - I like your new project simple but very effective.
FlowersofScotland - you got me thinking about other "special dates" and stitching them on the work. The other dates this year that stand out are 12.12.12 and 20.12.2012. Might have to plan around one of those dates and see if I can finish one for myself.
Louise - I agree with what you and others have said people don't appreciate the work that goes into some of the designs and you will never get back money to cover the materials plus the amount of hours that go into work if you try to sell it. I agree keep hold of your completed work who knows one day you could be famous and they would really be worth something then.:rotfl:
Soulie - I held out on buying anything from the HAED sale. Well to tell the truth I tried to get on the site and it crashed and I didn't get change to look again.
Off to get some lunch now before having to go to work - don't normally work on Thursday so not the happiest of bunnys.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

Yep, I spent a good hour looking at the site, choosing which one to get, then when I came to putting it in my cart the site had crashed lol
Checked back a couple of hours later and it was working again*Which one??

This one. I had a tough time choosing one though. I went through half of the site a few months ago, and added the ones I liked to my amazon wish list, then when I was looking through them (the Red Riding Hood was the first one on my amazon list), I couldn't understand why I had put at least half of the others on my list as when I looked at them last night, I didn't fancy many of them :rotfl:13 Projects in 2013 Finished: 5 of 13

Oh, she is gorgeous, what a striking picture :T:T
Yep, I love it! Hope it stitches up okay!
Like I said, it was the first one that was on my amazon list, then I spent a good hour or so looking through a load of others, but I was drawn back to her
Anyways, I also popped back in to post a piccie of the card I made with the blackwork 'S' I posted a few pages ago.
We were talking about Alice in Wonderland a page or two back, and I've just remembered that last summer I think, my Mum got me a mini handbag photo album, to put some photos of my brother in, because at the time he died, for his course, (he was studying to become a primary school teacher), the thing he was doing at the time was children's stories, so Mum thought it would be a nice touch. I will see if I can remember where it is and take a photo of it.
Edit. Found it. I'll just put one picture up, but you can click the links below to see the rest and in full view mode too
When it's bundled up and closed it measures 5cm x 7cm. When it's opened up and all 3 photo panels are visible (Pic 3), it measures 29cm x 7cm

My finger appears to have slipped and I am now the proud over of 2 HAED charts... oops (well it was buy one, get one free :P )
Who knows when I'll get to start them as my stitchy list just keeps on growing, but at least I've got them now!
Thanks for the info about WOXS Ailsb, I daren't look on the page cause I won't be able to resist clicking again :rotfl:
Is WOXS the best mag out there, what others are there to consider?
chicky - love boofle, he is too cute!
benny - your roses are gorgeous too!Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger No. 26 :hello:XStitch to do list:-- Birth Sampler -- Christmas Angel -- Mum's Xmas Stitch -- Christmas decs 3 & 4 -- Xmas Bird ---- Snowflake Sonata -- Be Jolly -- JE Unicorn -- Start HAED!!! --0 -
Found this site. http://www.historicalsamplercompany.co.uk/product.php?productid=16373
They sell it in kit form with a choice of aida or linen or just as a chart pack. Both are having discounts taken off at checkout but the chart pack had a delivery charge where the kit doesn't. Worth bearing in mind when deciding which is the best value, whole kit or just chart pack I guess
Thanks - I had resisted so far but with an offer of 10% off and chart packs available .........
I've actually bought the boy version of the birth sampler because I've remembered someone who would appreciate this. And their nursery is decorated with sailboats. I made a cushion when the baby was born and this design will go so well that I couldn't resist

Free postage starts at £20 so of course I had to have a look around and found another couple of charts. Not sure if this really counts as moneysaving but it made me feel better about the purchase0 -

What a great idea - will try to do the same. Perhaps we can remind each other nearer the time
I used to sign and date all of my pieces then I decided I didn't like it on some so now I only stitch the date on sampler type pieces but I do try to put something on the back of the frame (not as permanent I know but it's only for my benefit)0 -
