    Hello Girls

Hope you are all well. Sorry its been a while but I think I may of found my stitchy bug - was under the sofa but its to heavy for me to lift but the cat managed to pull it out.

I hope after this to do some of little boy blue. This is what it will look like when finished but I will be altering it with a couple of alterations - name, birth, etc.

    104_1613.jpg

I also found some old cross stitch magazines - slowly going through them - I just sit there and look through them instead of sorting them, and found something that I could take to work and do. It is a 3 part series but it is all in white thread and blue evenweave. Found that I had bought the thread and evenweave years ago and they were in a folder that I found, my to do list!

Will post a picture later when I find the camera - hubby must have taken it - he always taking photos of stuff.

I am also going to alter Joan Elliott's moon goddess. I don't like the way the bottom looks (no offence Joan) and make it a wee bit different - have emailed Joan and she says thats ok and she would like to see it before I stitch it up. It will be a while before stitching as I don't have the money to buy materials. I have fallen in love with the set - green goddess, rose goddess and the christmas one.

Well better go and get on - hope everyone is well where ever you are.

    Kind wishes,

    sweetcarer ;)

    - what would the best way be to stick the material on to a card? should I iron on that interfacing (is that whats its called) first ? then double sided sticky tape??

    That's usually what I do :)

ocemeer - What a lovely card, so sweet :D

    That's a crazy price......

Benny - those roses are beautiful :T It's not just roses I don't like stitching, it's all flowers :o I'm not sure what it it, I think it's all the blended colours running into each other - particularly the leaves, I find them boring to stitch. I would do it if I really had to as a gift for someone though, just wouldn't choose it willingly lol.

Sweetcarer - glad you found that bug again, that's a lovely design, very suitable. I like Joan Elliots work so will have to look up the Goddess designs you mentioned (LOL at you emailing her :rotfl:)

As for me today - I got a huge pile of ironing done so other than cook the dinner later - I have a whole day to stitch!!:j Well the family is still around, they want to watch DVD's with me, but I can stitch and do that :D

Have also had another request - my friends sister has had a baby boy so she has asked for a stitched baby cube to match the one I made when her neice was born.:)

  • Oh and guys I have another request - seems like I never stop with these.
My Mum recently decorated her liviing room and decided she would like a XS sampler, so off she goes on the world wide web (v v v v v dangerous if you are my mother) and out of every design there is she has decided she would like and no other will do,
Just Nan - majestic peacock. So now I am on a mission to get it.
I would usually tell her to wise up and pick something else but shes had a hard few years and I would love to get it for her - or something very similar. It's the teal that attracts her (unlike me she is very matchy matchy)
Any ideas or has anyone a wink wink nudge nudge??

    This is how it looks

Finally got around to doing some photos!

This is one I've just completed (needs ironing!) - was good to stitch as all whole stitches and no backstitch :D For some reason I can't get it to rotate.

This one I have just sorted all 37 threads for! Lots of colours but small enough to carry around.

This is a bigger one I'm planning on starting on my frame at home. Should be relatively easy as it's nice blocks of colour.

Afternoon everyone, I have been having major computer problems and just could not access this site but OH brought me a lovely new laptop, shiney and up to date so finally I can get back online:j I have been suffering with a lot of headaches lately so stitching has been slow. However I am very proud of the fact that I have finished 2 unfinished projects, one of which has been half done for about 7 years:eek:

I finally finished the Alice and wonderland piece, I had struggled with it for about a year, just no motivation. Then a couple of weeks ago everything just came together and my stitching block lifted and it took just a week to finish. Then I finished my witch on a hoover. Its one of the granny adams range called just flying. i brought it about 9 years ago but it has a lot of fractionals and metalic blending which i think put me off for a long time but now its all lovely and complete. I still have to fiqure out how to put a picture on here, If my OH gets home early enough tonight I may have him help me.

I have also been going through my HUGE stash of stitching mags and pulling out the charts that I want to keep all and organising them into folders, I'm about halfway through my magazines but it has been lots of fun and I now have a long list of projects, large and small, that I want to stitch.

At the moment the large project Im working on is another unfinished piece that i started early last year Its the fans of the far east project fromJoan Elliots an Oriental Odyssey. There are 3 fans and I have completed one and am over halfway through the second one.

I hope you are all having a fab stitching Sunday.

    Hello Again

Twice in one day - now thats new! Found camera so I can show off some pictures

    Latest with little boy blue

    104_1994.jpg

The pattern I am going to do at work - it is in 3 parts, so here is part one -

    104_1990.jpg

From very old copies of Cross Stitch Collection (1997) - issues 28, 30 and 32. The last part shows you can do it as all in one in a cushion but I am going to do them as groups of 4 and alter the wording so it contains month and flower. But here it is as all in one. The material I think I picked up a craft fair years ago so its not the exact same blue and I have 7 skeins of white - must of used two else where. It recommends you do 3 skeins per picture of 4. Sorry for photos - I am not David Bailey.

    104_1992.jpg

PS I have become friends with Joan Elliott, Emily Peacock and Faye Whitaker in Facebook and they comment in peoples work - they have forum pages. Its amazing to think they watch us doing our work and give wee comments. Nice wee boost.

    Kind wishes to all

  • Hi Sweetcarer When your first post described the white on blue set of designs I wondered if it was the one I stitched ages ago - and your 2nd post shows that it is. I only managed to stitch the first in the set but would love to do the other 2. I like stitching in one colour and find the work grows quickly that way. Your Little Boy Blue is lovely.
